I'm assuming that most people have certain areas where we gain weight first.. I'm what is commonly referred to as a "pear" shape my bum and thighs are the first to pack it on! :p

So I've lost a lot of weight (in my opinion).. 20kg since about August 2007 15kg of that from being raw but my bum and thighs are still holding on for dear life while the upper half of my body barely has any fat left!

Is it all a matter of patience or do we keep our "body shapes" if such a thing exists?

Thanks guys! :D

for me i lose weight in the reverse order that i gain it... upper body first, then belly, then upper arms, then lower body last. i finally started losing the weight in my upper arms. my butt is not far behind! (no pun intended...) be patient, your "body shape" is your bone structure, and i doubt you have fat thighbones! :)

I had the same problem and, since going mostly raw, the butt and hips have started to slim down. Of course, as we all know, those last 10 lbs are the hardest, yet they're always the ones we want gone the most. Just be patient and have faith that eventually you'll probably achieve the body shape you want.

My body shape changed drastically, but I've done an exercise routine since being raw. Exercise is important. I used to have so much weight in my thighs that I coudn't wear jeans. Now I wear jeans all the time!

My body shape remains same regardless of weight (though mine has not changed to much over the years ). I am HOUR GLASS ..(ok enhanced in the cup size 13 years ago ;) ) I stay same, small to tiny waist and proportioned upper and lower..I find it odd I can gain 5-10 pds, lose 5-10 pds and still keep my waist at 23-25 inches. It must be genetic / structural ?? I will gain in bust and hips.

When I did that South Beach diet that reduced processed sugars--it was the first and only "diet" where I noticed some shrinkage in the girth of my hips, thighs, and belly.

It is the first to gain and last to lose place for me.

I don't expect those areas to shrink on me anytime soon--but I do expect that as my weight goes further down, that those areas will shrink with time--especially with the absence of processed sugar products.

B/c I do pilates--though I am still in the 160s..I am fitting into size 10s quite simply. Where before raw, before pilates--and before baby...when I was 150...I was squeezing into them.

I told my sister my weight this weekend and she was shocked. I always "look less" than the number.

One day, I hope to no longer be slave to the number.

Oh--and despite all efforts--I will probably always be an hourglass.

I am a classic pear shape as well. Being raw has helped me lose a little weight, but I did the best when I was pregnant, of all times beleive it or not! What I did then was avoid ALL SUGAR! Anything that had any type of sugar I didn't eat it. My thighs and butt were so much smaller!
So, I have begun to reduce the amt of sweetners I consume in hopes of it happening again.
Sorry I don't have alot to offer, other than understanding.

I'm most deffinitely an upside down triangle! I have broad shoulders and no hips, and a normal sized waist.

I also have short legs which is a bit annoying because any weight on the top part of my thighs makes them touch together and make my legs look even shorter.

but finding your body shape is great as it makes your dress according to shape and not size! It is reassuring to know that no matter what your size you can still dress your shape and look good.

I really love the programme How To Look Good Naked with Gok Wan - he is so inspiring and makes me feel happier in my skin.
