Now that I added a picture (granted its just my hair!) I feel more vulnerable and less hidden so I am scared to even ask this but I thought I should.

I have always had a problem with one toenail. Since I was in Jr. High this toe has fought fungus, ingrown toenails...everything. So NOW this toenail has fungus again (5 years ago I did a round of lamisil and it went away for a couple of years...got a pedicure for my wedding and it was back in full force from then on) so randomly the root of my toenail is lifting from the bed. Its extremely painful and the dr said I could either remove the toenail or just see if it gets better (I waited 3 years for insurance and this is what I get now that I have it??) So he doesn't think it has anything to do with the fungus. But I am positive it does.
So I am thinking about going back on lamisil again. I just wanted to see if anyone had ever had raw heal this? Or if anyone knew anything about why someone would continually get this fungus no matter what diet they eat? 1 year ago I started noticing some discoloration on my pinky nail...same side as the toenail...and its the left side. I've heard the left side is the female side in Chinese medicine so I must be off balance...help?

I've been meaning to try this remedy quoted in "Bottom Line's Super Healing" book as I have the same problem. Put one inch of cornmeal, yellow or white, in a pan, and add just enough warm, not hot, water to cover it. Let this sit for 30 minutes. Then add enough warm water to cover up your feet. Soak for at least one hour once per week until the fungus is gone. Sounds a little messy, but if it works, it's worth it! Carolyn

I cleared one foot. Other foot almost cleared.

Here's what I did:

Daily vinegar soaks. I saturated cotton pads in vinegar and put them over the affected toes. I did this while in the bath and put my feet up. But you can also do this while on the computer, watching TV or whatever, just sitting down, if you cover your feet with plastic bags so the vinegar doesn't get all over. You don't need expensive vinegar. The plain white kind works quite well.

Before bed and before getting dressed in the morning, put some cream or lotion on the affected nails that contains urea. I use Aqua Care, but really anything containing urea will work. I just buy whatever is the cheapest.

I also used a Dr. Scholl's product that is available OTC. It comes with a little brush and you scrub your nails well with it in the bath. I don't think it actually does anything other than bleach and clean really well. You could probably skip the product and use a dedicated nail brush so you don't infect your other nails.

I also kept the nails cut as short as possible. Since fungal nails tend to break, I kept a disposable filing board (the tough kind meant for artificial nails) to use if necessary to keep them short.

Using this method, one foot cleared in about 3 months.

The other foot was not responding as well (although it got much better). Someone suggested using oil of Oregano on the nails. Said he cleared his quickly with this. I have not had much luck using it, but it smells good! What I am currently doing is putting the oil of Oregano on at night and the cream in the morning. Only occasional vinegar soaks.

On the cleared foot, I still use the cream about once a week just to make sure the fungus doesn't come back.

I had that before raw. I didn't have to do anything special I just went raw and it went away.
