HiYa, I have been lurking here for a week or so. I am so inspired by this great group of people here, Thanks! A bit about me: I am 42, currently 5 1/2 months pregnant and I also have 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old boys. I have been quite ill with my asthma for a few years but it has gotten so much worse since this pregnancy. I was hospitalized for a week when I was just 6 weeks along. I would like to go raw but not totally at this time. I don't want to detox too bad while I am pregnant (I am also on meds for my asthma). At this point I am eating lots of fruits and veggies before any other foods, which in turn I am eating much less cooked. I am looking into purchasing a dehydrator, and am looking for a decent, relatively inexpensive juicer. We had one but it was cheap and wasteful. Anyway, this is getting kinda long for just an introduction LOL! Thanks for reading it!

Hi! Welcome and glad you came out of lurking... Since you're pregnant, I recommend reading Jinjee's ebook. It's VERY interesting and inspiring. You can find it at www.thegardendiet.com

Have you thought of a macrobiotic / raw diet - its a way to eat healthy (no processed stuff) while not being completely raw here is a link to a past thread http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3166&highlight=macrobiotic
its a lot of steamed, asian influenced foods - VERY yummy!

Welcome, Randolyn. What a wonderful gift you're giving your children -- both unborn and huggable. Going raw can be a most loving start in the world. You have my best wishes and support. You can buy an inexpensive dehydrator (there are several threads here that mention that), but I don't know about a juicer since I don't personally juice.
Welcome again, and congratulations.
