So, this morning, I was all excited to try making some aloe vera juice with my shiny, new, manual wheatgrass juicer (it also juices soft fruits and veggies).
I cut some aloe vera pieces from my plant and popped them in the juicer.
The resulting juice was thick and slimy and yellow colored. It tasted so bitter that I had to mix in the juice of two clementines and two tablespoons of honey just to get it down.
I've had wheatgrass juice, dandelion greens, plain raw cacao nibs, and the white pith of an orange, but none of those things even came close to the bitterness of the aloe vera juice  .
What did I do wrong?
Was I supposed to peel the green skin off of the aloe vera before juicing it? If so, I don't think that I could peel the skin, because my aloe leaves are very small/thin.
