Hello everyone! tracyisglowing is how I'll be known here. I have been basically raw for 10 years. (That darn health food store junk food!) I am 45 years old (can't believe that one!!). My husband and I have been married since highschool graduation-27 years. We have 7, count em, 7 children! (ages 20-3) For which I am extremely grateful for! We homeschool in the Colorado mountains.

I first went raw or mostly raw after my 4th pregnancy in which I had gestational diabetes. We knew we wanted more kids, but I wasn't going thru that again! My husband's aunt introduced me to the raw food way. I ate mostly raw thru my next pregnancies and was perfectly healthy!

I have been struggling the last 5 years. My metabolisim crashed on me, I think from over exercising. Right when I felt good again, I got pregnant with our youngest and needless to say did not eat perfectly through his pregnancy. Was still jucing and eating lots of salads, but health food store junk food too! I have not felt great since his birth 3 years ago. I even resorted to following the world's advice on eating, but always came back to raw and always felt better when I did. When you are so foggy and lethargic it is very hard to make the right decisions!!

I recently comitted myself to 100% raw again and even though my 3 year old kept me up last night due to sickness, I got through the day great!! Green drink, salad, fruit-MUCH BETTER THAN COFFEE!!

So, here's to US! The committed RAW people! (Wow, that sounded like we are instutionalized--is that a word?!?)!!! Every day that I stay raw, I get stronger and stronger in my resolve. If you can just make it past day 3-your commitment will soar!!

I could say much more, but I'll cut this relatively short. Remember-stay committed!;)

Hey, thanks for sharing your story and welcome to the forum. It's been tremendously helpful to me for keeping up the momentum to eat raw. Do you have Alissa's book yet? It's my favorite raw book. Keep in touch and best of luck.

Its great to meet you! It sounds like you have tremendous experience with raw and I look forward to reading more of your experiences. I've been raw in the past (about 80%) and now I've been back to 80% for about 5 days.

You must have your hands full with 7 homeschooled children! I commend you! :) I have a hard enough time balancing work, school and now going raw- I can't imagine doing it with such a large family. You must be superwoman!
