Hi All--
I have seen this website for cheap macadamia nuts on this board from time to time (http://caromacsc.tripod.com/driedfruitnutsseedsandherbs/index.html), so I finally took the plunge and ordered 10lbs of nuts from them at the end of December.
Problem is that I never received my order. I e-mailed them and they said it was " on the way", but still no nuts! Has this happended to anyone else?? I put in a dispute resolution with Paypal and I plan to call the company directly on Monday, but just trying to get a feel for this vendor from you all~ have you been satisfied with your purchase, or disappointed?
Please share your experiences.

I've ordered from them twice, and got my order within a week, both times.
I'm sorry, I've heard of another who didn't receive their order (try banana searching?)....I don't know what to tell you :(

I ordered probably a year ago, also 10 lbs and got them pretty quick. I would call them too...they were very nice the time I spoke with them.

It says they are sold out of macs... maybe they are trying to backorder some for you.

What I bought was the style 4/halves...I figured I was blending most of them anyway...they are still in stock~

Same thing here. I ordered 26 pounds on Dec 18... nothing. I have written three times and gotten replies that they are on the way. I've asked for the tracking number twice, which he has not sent (says on the site it will be sent upon request). I told him I hated to see his good reputation spoiled on the boards I frequent but I will give a review if I do not get my money back or the nuts soon. I'm still waiting.
I'll be glad to come back and tell if the nuts do arrive but for now, I would caution anyone not to order. It's such a shame because his prices are great. I had planned to order a bunch of stuff besides nuts.
(I ordered macs twice before and got them really fast.)

I had this problem with them. They sent my order in 2 packages and I had to stay on top of them and keep emailing them. It is a shame because they def have the best price for macs. I finally got everything and made them send me some free nuts too.
I would say just stay on top of them, they usually only emailed like once a week.
I have also ordered, December 27th, and nothing. I have been patient but after all of your responses I guess I need to make some calls and email as well :(. My previous order months ago was timely.

Hey guys... it's been almost a month and a half and six emails and still no nuts. He last wrote 1/7/08 saying they were held up in a UPS facility in VA. Since then I've written twice with no response.
I decided to file a resolution complaint with PayPal, so we'll see how it goes.
Sweetpea76 & Yana, have you gotten yours?

Are these in shell nuts? I find in shell ones to have much more taste, but you do need a special nut cracker and a lot of strenght to open these, but it's so worth it. The ones I get shelled locally are tasteless, the in shell ones I order online are great.
Last time I got 10 pounds of them on ebay in shell and fresh (not dehydrated as they are almost always sold). I dehydrated them myself for several days (normally done for 2 weeks in the sun) and they came out great. I'm definately buying some fresh ones again on ebay.
Also keep in mind they may weight about 4 times less once dehydrated and shelled (I dehydrate them before shelling, and shell just before eating them), so the 10 pounds being sold will turn into maybe 2 pounds of nuts or so.

Same thing happened to me. Contact South Carolina Consumer's Affairs and also register an online complaint at the BBC in South Carolina. Consumer's Affairs should be able to get you your money back. Personally, I have been deceived and ripped off too many times by companies to tolerate it anymore.

Thanks Raweater.
I had not thought about buying them on Ebay. That's really good info about the weight too, to compare. How do they taste before you dehydrate them?
Hi Raweyes!
I did turn him in to the Better Business Bureau. Is that the same as BBC? He had been reported twice before. I'll check into Consumer's Affairs too. Thanks. If anyone needs the information I've gathered, I'll be glad to supply it or post it here. I hate to see anyone else get ripped off, since his site is still up, like business as usual.
He actually has a history of this sort of stuff, but I did my homework too late. :o

iloveraw: They taste similar to coconut before drying, but I prefer them dried (even though I love coconut). On ebay the ones I get are sold for Macaw birds, but you can dehydrate and eat them like any others.
I also prefer to buy on ebay than online stores when possible as you have MUCH more protection than random online stores like the one being discussed here, you can also see the seller's feedback and know immediately if they can be trusted or not, and those who have many complaints get banned, so buying on ebay is far safer and often cheaper.
