First off I am not raw...yet! I am going to be doing a colon cleanse. It is an 8 day program where I cut back on food for 3 days, then for the next 5 days I have nothing but fresh organic apple juice and water, and the pills in the cleansing package. I will also have complete access to an infrared sauna(I bought one:) I have never done a fast or a cleanse before this but I am tired of being sick and tired so I thought Id just go for it! Now my dilemma is I would like to go staight to raw( or at least high raw 85-90%) but I have 3 very young kids and a husband that doesnt even agree with all raw never mind eats it! I need some ideas on what to eat as I come off the fast and easy quick foods to eat during my detox period. I am probly going to be very tired but still having to cook for the kids and hubby:confused: FYI I am so far north in BC, Canada that some foods are impossible to get here such as young coconuts. Any suggestions? Anyone gone through the same struggles? Would love to hear some inspirational stories!!! Thanks a bunch.

Welcome!
First off, I love your last name. My maiden name was Gagnon.
Secondly, I don't know how you are at making lists but I'm obsessive about it and what I like to do is go through recipe books and pick out a bunch of recipes for the week and come up with a menu plan.
Here are my plans for the first 2 weeks of January 2008. I made them in excel and then I hang it on my fridge so I can keep checking it. I have also printed off all my recipes and put them in a binder for easy access.

All this preparation has been paying off. Today is Day 12 and we are still 100% raw. We're not following the food plan perfectly but it's a great guide to remind us what we bought the groceries for!
Best Wishes!

Lists are definitely my way of accompishing tasks. I make lists for just about everything. I would have to say that I am also obsessive with them. Thanks for sharing yours. I think that is what I will go by. Of course different recipes, but good template. Straight forward and easy to follow. Wow. If I make it to 12 days I will be laughing! I have a 4 year old, 2 year old and a 7 month old so I am a little concerned that I just wont have time to prepare some of the more involved recipes that would keep me going...but I hope I make it. I made it 7 days 2 years ago but I found out I was pregnant and had such super cravings for junk I gave in right away.Plus I lost a pound a day and panicked thinking it would be very bad for pregnancy. Silly me. Oh well. Here we go again:rolleyes:
