I love this quote, Swingbolder used it in a different thread, so I wanted to start a thread with it, (thanks swingbolder for the adorable wording)
Anyway, I've noticed that my taste buds have deceived me, or changed, or are "wildly fickle", YES! this is the correct wordage.
I used to eat the same thing day after day, and have been trying massively different foods lately, then had some old standbys, and they tasted way different. Not necessarily bad, they just tasted off.
So, I had my hubby (who is only about 50 to 75% raw) and he said they tasted the same to him.
So, now I am thinking about alot of the raw food recipes I've tried in the past.
I've tried alot of gourmet raw food, in the past few years, while I was in my "struggling raw" period, and I thought some recipes where truly horrible, and others were OKAY, and some were really good.
So, now I am wondering if EVERYONE'S tastebuds change? It seems like alot of raw people say that after a period of time, you won't want such gourmet raw food, and this would make sense to me, after eating cooked food for so long, then transitioning to raw, then transitioning to a more simple lifestyle, then maybe even mono fruits, etc.
I used to wonder how people could NOT want all the delicious flavors of gourmet raw, now I am thinking that this is a natural progression.
I know that I can't tollerate much salt or oils, and I used to REALLY love salty foods, and lots of butter on everything.
Now I eat a couple of greek black olives, and that's enough salt and oil for me.
I used to eat about 1 cube or more of butter a day, plus oil to cook things in and crackers with salt, and I salted everything, and I used to eat about a dozen green olives, huge ones, very salty every day.
WOW, how things change.
Anyone else notice a massive difference in their taste buds?
