I have read alot of posts of people who are able to do a cleanse or fast for days or even weeks. When I first started I did a juice fast for 3 days and felt like I was very weak and light headed and close to death (sorry, but it is true). How do you do it for so long? I mean emotionally (not 'chewing/eating' food) and physically (strength, etc.)? I have got to give you all ALOT of credit. Whenever I think about doing it, I 'chicken' out. Please help with some suggestions. (And, I really do think you all are amazing for being able to stick with it for so long!).

I really and truly believe it is mind over matter. When you are juice fasting don't deprive yourself, if you are hungry have some juice. And water is extremely important, a lot of times hunger pangs will go away when you have water.
I am on day 10 of my fast and prior to this I definitely was a binge eater, I would snack til there was nothing left. This whole fasting process just is clearing my head. I said this in another post but really it is like the devil and the angel are sitting on your shoulders, one telling you to bite that apple and the other telling you to juice it. The more you overcome this hurdle and opt for the juice the easier it becomes.
As far as energy, I would say I have more but once again I think it is because I am telling myself I have the energy to go and do more. I think my energy comes from the willpower telling me to keep going, I dont know this may just be me.
I would say that when you are emotionally ready to do a fast then it will come with ease. I also wouldnt psych myself up for it so much as to just do it like it was something completely natural for you to be doing on any other day. Once you do get through the first few day hurdle then it gets fun because I totally feel like a chemist concocting different juices every night haha.
Best of luck for you if you decide to try again. I hope I have been helpful oppose to talking your ear off ha.

I TOTALLY agree with Solong. And I really think if you were having major issues with weakness you probably weren't drinking enough. If you plan on drinking 2.5-3 quarts of juice a day you would probably do better. And you have to REALLY mentally prepare because you will still be facing all the same temptations you face when eating raw only you won't even be eating.

Thank you both - that sure makes good sense. Sorry - I did not see the fasting section before - oops! :o
