Hi everyone,

I was recently at Raw Food Potluck and ManaBread was served. It was good but I wasn't sure if it was Raw or not, I asked the person who brought it and she would never say yes or no she'd just state what it was, a sprouted grain bread, I don't know maybe that was her way of saying yes. It felt cold so it seems like it should be refrigerated I guess. I went to the website too (natures path (http://www.naturespath.com/products/breads)) I don't see the word Raw there, is this stuff truly Raw? Also if it is Raw are there any other makers of this sort of food aside form Nature's path? if so who?

thanks. :)

They aren't raw, and in case you aren't aware grains aren't very healthy, raw or not (they are too high in sugar, poor in nutrition, high in natural toxins, etc.).

The general consensus is its not raw but its good for transitioning as its a lot better than normal bread since it's made with sprouted grains and its cooked at fairly low temperatures. You can make similar really raw bread from sprouted grains if you dehydrate it.

I called the company directly and unfortunately it is not raw they cook it at 250 degrees. But I agree it is a good transitional food for those who really need a bread fix. I used to be a huge bread addict (more than any other food). Giving up meat was not nearly as hard as bread.
