Hi folks,
when I make some food like veggie-burgers, etc., I keep them in the refrigerator, and when I want to eat them, they are toooooo cold for me... and now it is winter...
how can I warm the food?
My dehydrator is a l'Equipe one, and I only have trays, it is different than Excalibur that you can use without the trays inside to cook a bowl of soup, etc.
Any ideas?
Thank you guys!!

I stick then in the "d" or bring them out an hour before I want to eat them and bring them to room temp. For soups, I stick 'em in the VM for a couple of minutes.

I choose not to heat my foods but here's a thread that I bookmarked so that If I changed my mind I could check it out again:

Everyone makes their own choices about how they do raw and I support you in your raw journey and any choices you make on your journey.

For solids I normally put them 15-30 minutes in the dehydrator. For liquids like soups I either start with room temp ingredients or otherwise I sometimes put it on the stove on the lowest setting just to bring it to room temp or slightly above (warm is already past 118*F). If it's a soup stored in the fridge then I put the vacuum sealed jar in warm water for 15 minutes.
By the way, I don't think warming things up in the blender is the best way as you're whipping in a lot more air, increasing oxidation and decreasing vitamins, this is against the principle of the raw diet (preserving nutrition).

This is realllllllly silly but I heat some of my food up under one of those construction/painting lamps. Standing by it is like a mini heater so my dad was like why not put your food under it for a little. It totally works haha. I've heated everything from burgers, mashed potatoes, oatmeal...

Hi everybody!!
When I had a Raw first b-day party for my daughter...I took out my old electric pancake griddle, set it on low and set my glass bowls with the soups and nacho "cheese" in them on top. it worked well and everything stayed warm without getting hot.

I turn it on and preheat it and turn it off and put my soup or burgers in there and slighly heat them and sometimes i put my bowls and plates in there and heat them and then put my food on them and in them.
The food heats up slowly while i'm eating it, yum, yum.
When it's cold outside i have trouble eating cold food too:)

I put things on top of my radiator - coconut oil to melt it, chocolate while I'm making it, things from the fridge...
to warm soups I put a jug of soup inside a bowl of boiling water, and warm it to luckwarm

Life is great, isn't it? Lots of choices.
Yep, what an amazing, enterprising group we are!

Hello guys,
I'm not very used to the abbreviations such as "VM"... what's the meaning of this? "Vacuum xxxx???"
Thank you!

Ummm... this is a RAW food board. Using a microwave not only cooks the food, it kills all the nutrients which we are looking to maintain with this food program.
