Hey, I am 25 years old and weigh around 260 pounds. I would like to loose 60 pounds at least. I want to start the Atkins diet because I have heard that it is good for burning fat. I am just wondering if I have to stay on it for a very long time to work properly. I researched deeply into fatigue but after reading that it is an effect of the Atkins diet. I am totally confused and would appreciate any help.

occasionally i take a B-12 supplement. i use a powdered kind "Instant Energy B-12" that i throw in my smoothies. i also have another dissolvabe tablet from trader joe's, but it is not vegan.
i try to get B-12 from nutritional yeast also. frankly i do not notice much of a difference in energy level. i usually have even energy through out the day unless i am sleep deprived.
also, remember that the liver stores B-12. so if you supplement and you are getting 33,000% of the daily recommended value in one shot, that B-12 will stay with you and get used as necessary.

Hi. This is a raw vegan forum and is set up according to the principles of Alissa Cohen's book and dvd "Living on Live Food". So we don't discuss things such as the Atkins diet here. If you'd like to discuss raw vegan/living foods, that's great. If not, you'd have better luck seeking out an Atkins specific forum.

Thanks for understanding.:D
