Hi everyone...I got some christmas cash recently along with some birthday dough...enough to purchase a Vitamix and maybe some raw food goodies from Alissa's store. I currently have a magic bullet and I really love it and I've done quite a bit with it..I know it could do more (and I'm sure the vitamix could do it) BUT it is soooooo much money. Does anyone have the magic bullet and a vitamix? Is it worth the money? Thanks! Any suggestions for food from Alissa's store? What is the yummiest??! :)

The Vitamix is beyond worth it. I've had mine for years & love it.
Alissa's store-the chocolate truffles & sauce are the best. Oats & Nori Sheets are handy to have.

I got a Vita-mix for Christmas and have used it every day since I've had it...the sheer power of the thing is amazing! I used to make smoothies in a food processor and the ones in the Vita-mix are sooo much smoother. And I can now make thick, creamy shakes cos it blends soaked nuts so smooth. I love the variable speed on the vita-mix (5000 model and up) too cos it means the contents don't splash all up the jar.
Do you have a dehydrator? I got my dehydrator before my vita-mix. I could cope with the dehydrator and the food processor but don't know if I could handle having a vita-mix and no dehydrator! In the summer it would be fine but in the winter I really need something warm inside me! So maybe if you don't have a dehydrator you could get that instead of the vita-mix (cheaper, too).

Thanks everyone...I just needed that extra push. The extra push was the thought of banana cacao shakes...didn't realize it would make smooth thick shakes...its now ordered!

Oh yeah I love banana cacao shakes :) I soak a handful of cashews overnight (sometimes use sesame seeds too to get the calcium!) and blend them with a banana, a couple scoop of cacao and some pineapple juice. It doesn't taste of pineapple but it makes it sweeter! Oh, and some vanilla! The vanilla makes it perfection. I make it without cacao sometimes as a vanilla shake. Yum!

You won't regret it for a moment....over the holidays I was at family's using their blender (of which I was so happy to have access to) and I REALLY thought I love my vitamix. One thing I loved also was that I could see that my husband, and two older children could REALLY see the difference between blenders when we were making green smoothies.

That recipe sounds amazing...can't wait for the vitamix to get here now! Is your name a Pixies reference? If so...nice :)
