Back in the day when I wasn't raw, I would always have so many skin problems, I would eat certain foods, and just immediately start itching my legs so hard til they would start to bleed and never was it enough. Since being raw I don't itch like that thankfully anymore, even though I am working towards being 100%, currently I'm at like 75%ish. But the other day my co-worker and I went to lunch, I had a half a deli sandwich on a roll and just immediately felt my legs oh so very itching and a weird under the skin burning sensation, almost like hives. I always used to tell my husband I think I had a wheat allergy, but I never got it diagnosed. I went for a skin prick allergy test with no results, but I don't know if that was tested as well. But anyhow.. I am so happy to of found raw :D

I'm so glad raw can help you with this!

I had the same problem - my holistic doc called it a wheat intolerance with candidia overgrowth. I would sometimes wake in the mornings with lightly bleeding gashes from scratching in my sleep. So long as I stay 100% raw, I don't have this problem any more either. I'm glad you are feeling better!

Oh, yes! My skin issues have been the bane of my existence! Sensitive skin, acne, hives, eczema, mysterious rashes....all of my life I've been struggling with something....UNTIL NOW!!

My skin is blemish-free now, on about 80% raw. A very stubborn patch of eczema on my ankle is literally clearing up before my eyes--the skin is peeling off a bit at a time and is being replaced by healthy skin. I don't have those annoying itchy patches behind both ears that I've had off and on for years. I am really grateful for this change.

I want to share that I am ALSO taking a very bioavailable form of Vitamin D--2,000 IU's/day and that is making a big difference, too. I know the combo of raw foods and a supplement of a vitamin I suspect I've been deficient in for a looong time is healing me. I believe the Vit. D is also very helpful with the winter blahs (otherwise known as Seasonal affective Disorder), just as raw food is.

I can't lose. :D

Thanks so much rawsweetie on the info on Vitamin D, I'll have to look further into that, see if it's something that can help me out :)

My mom had exactly those problems with itching - turns out she has celiac disease, and now all those problems are GONE - so it could be wheat.

I just set up an appointment with an allergist thursday evening to get some bloodwork done to test and see if anything comes up positive, I did have the skin prick test done a way back but nothing showed up positive, I'm not sure if this test will be any different?

Hi Soulshine I have similar problems & it is mainly dairy products that make me itch, especially in my inner ears. When I have had tests dairy hasnt shown up as an issue though. I found the best way to track my food intolerances was to keep a food/mood diary for 6 months listing everything eaten, the time eaten, how I feel emotionally & physically. This helped me uncover intolerances that took a few days to show up in my body. HTH

Hey Crystalmoon, I used to have dairy problems back in the day also, then I went for the skin patch test with an allergic, but nothing showed up positive. So I starting asking him why when I ate dairy my ears would hurt and clog, sinuses would clog up, and my throat hurt, his response was "I don't know, maybe it's in your head". A doctor said that, are you kidding me, why would I want to make that up?

Well, I had a doc misdiagnose my detox rash as scabies. Good times! :p

Heh, ive had so many hillarious "diagnoses":) I have several "cafe-au-lait" spots which ive had since i was about 15...ive been asking doctors about them for years and years...i never got a helpful response, but my favourite was
"Its a fungal rash. Ill give you cream, itll clear"

These patches are dark-light brown and have been there for YEARS. They dont itch or anything, they just look like raised birthmarks. One also told me to try going on the contraceptive pill for it!

Anyway back to the topic, im so glad to hear your skins cleared from raw, soul...yay!
