Hey

Just to say: I've recently started the raw vegan lifestyle again, after trying it before and failing and (shock horror) recently going back to meat.

This after ten years as a vegatarian, which included three months as a vegan and, later, five months as a raw food vegan.

Discovered this fantastic forum, and decided to try going raw again. Such a lovely light energy there is here!

So anyway, after reading the website I went into my kitchen, found bacon, and ham filled pasta in fridge, tried to eat it (still in a bit of a muddle) and couldn't! Not after reading all your posts and getting the light energy from here!!

Bacon just looked so ... dead.

So here I am again, back on the raw food diet and determined to do it properly this time, and it's mostly, if not entirely, down to this forum!

Thanks, guys.

Love

Thanks y'all! Appreciated.

EZ Rider, what lovely imagery!

June - what made me go back to meat? At the time, I was feeling extemely unhealthy. I hadn't done the raw diet properly, and was lacking in all sorts of nutrients. Maybe that's the main reason.

So I'd gone back to being vegetarian, and wasn't eating well - LOTS of chocolate, bread, etc. No energy. And I think, now, too, I was eating way too much soya, and soya milk, and my body had just had enough. I've since heard from a few sources that soya isn't good for you, and I can believe that.

I couldn't face the raw food diet again(!) and decided that, contrary to what I'd believed, the human body did need meat.

It took me a few weeks/months to make the decision, but I think it had been in the back of my mind for a while. But it was a pretty traumatic decision to make.

Maybe, subconsciously, I'd always had the idea that a 'proper' dinner had to have meat as the main part of it, and returning to meat for a while was a part of facing up to that? and of making another, fuller commitment to accepting we don't need meat/and it isn't good for you, in any way.

LOL--I'm having the same "trouble"...so welcome!

While I am not 100% raw or vegan or vegetarian for that matter....coming to this site regularly seems to be working on my brain...as I really think twice before eating something--and the taste...well...just isn't the same as before this site. Not enjoyable at all....and in lots of cases, I just want to pass on it (and sometimes do).

I think going to 100% will be easier than I think.

My face looks sooooo much more alive and awake now. I now know what they mean by "bright eyed and bushy tailed".

I now get hangovers when I stray to processed sugar. Forget the alcohol--oh me oh my--a processed sugar hangover makes you feel so dead.
