As of this morning I have been raw for 4 months. It's been amazing. So far I have shed 30 more lbs in my quest for health. I feel MUCH better.
I have a pretty high stress life and RAW had helped me CALM DOWN. I'm not freaking out nearly as much. :D I have suffered from insomnia for about 10 years now. It got so bad that I took Ambien for a couple of weeks, but then one morning I woke up with an empty Pringles container and drained 2 liter of rootbeer next to my bed. My ribs were incredibly sore, and I had NO MEMORY of the night before. I gave it up that day and the detox was BRUTAL. I stayed awake for 39 hours.
Now, with raw, I just go to sleep at about 10 pm and wake at about 5 am, fully rested-and no memory loss. :p
My migraines are gone. I believe my 2-POT-a-day coffee habit was to blame. :o My dc are making much healthier choices and my food bill has gone down by a third.
I still struggle with motivation, but that has been a lot better since I started Green Smoothies a week ago.
I am hopeful that I will lose another 20 lbs, once some of this snow melts and the temperature is more conducive to playing outdoors.
All in all, RAW FOODS have greatly improved my life.

Go girrrrrrrrrrrrlll! I am so happy for you. It's amzing what we do to ourselves, scary really. All those commercials on TV telling us all we need to do is take a pill. . . and dont you just love the speedy narrator listing the side effects like you may break out in hives, stop breathing, turn green, grow an extra head. . .
Well done on the cold turkey. . .soooo hard but worth it!
All the best,
EPPP

Explain how your food bill has gone down by 1/3rd. Mine has gone up since going raw.

Thank you everyone.
For those of you who asked:) : I'm 5'4".
My food bill went down because i am no longer buying "snack foods". My dc are forced;) to eat apples, bananas, and dried fruit when they are hungry between meals. I also have learned to not *overbuy* produce and then have it rot. I go to the grocery store 2-3 times a week for produce. I also don't make a lot of gourmet foods, which keeps the cost (and prep time) WAAAY down.

Wow! Great to know raw has cured your insomnia. I have suffered from insane insomnia ever since I can remember. I stopped taking sleeping pills for good, I've been on and off them since I was about 6. I can't sleep now though
Hopefully my insomnia will go away in time, I've been eating raw since September but not 100%...
