Geesh--the produce market had them for $4.99/lb and Publix had green grapes for $3.99. The pickings were slim since they aren't stocking much at those heinous prices.

When is grape season anyway? Did I miss the memo? I just don't remember a time when they weren't available and the highest I recall is $2.99 per pound.

(Publix had red grapes in abundance about 2 weeks ago.)

I saw grapes at our Whole Foods today... sorry I didn't catch the price. I think grapes are usually mid summer thru fall.

But don't quote me on that!:D

1.49/lb my gracious! They're always 3.99/lb here. All year long...

I miss fresh blueberries and strawberries at tasty prices. I'm feeling your pain all around, but I have no idea what season grapes are good in.

Grapes are usually always $1.49/lb here so I look like a piggy in check out with bushels of them on the check out belt lol... but they are usually a good size and this time they are like tiny marbles. I feel ripped off. :D

Hi momma-rawma ~

Grape harvest is usually August - October, depending on the weather and region.

Funny you should mention this b/c I was going to post the same question. I miss my grapes and they were terribly expensive when I purchased a "few" today. I can't wait until they are back in full force!!!!

I miss all the summer mid fall fruits. :( Watermelon is like $4.99 for a personal one up here in the North East. They are small...and should you buy one you will be very disappointed. Fruits should only be eaten in their season...simply because of taste...just my opinion...but I'm sticking to oranges and bananas right now...because I'm not disappointed with the taste.

Raspberries...blackberries...cantalope and honeydew...all $4-5.00 each! Agh! I can't wait for Summer!

I really miss grapes and strawberries...and oh...I could go on and on. I can't wait until Spring. Prices go down...fruit choices go up! :D Yum!!! (I feel a bit like a kid waiting for Christmas to come!)

I know this won't help right now but last fall when people had grapes on their grape vines and were begging people to come and use them....well, I picked bags of them, took them off their vines and put them into baggies to be froozen. Although they aren't like eating fresh grapes, it is nice to have them for my smoothies. It's something new I tried this year and it's worked out nicely.....oh, and to make it even better the grapes were free.

I am getting fantastic sweet organic black grapes at the moment but I have not asked where they are coming from. Someone in the world is growing them right now.
