I have a few raw samosa recipes, but none with the "crisp" of the real thing. Are there any raw samosa recipes with a crispy dehydrated pastry around it? The recipes I have use either ground walnut, ground flax seeds, or young coconut meat puree as the shells, I'm hoping for a pastry type dough I can dehydrate partly and then wrap the samosa fillings in and dehydrate more until crispy.

If none exists I'll try to invent one.

If you do invent one please post the recipe :)

Add sprouted quinoa to whatever you are using as the wrapping it does a light puffy crispy thing when I dehydrated it in a cracker with corn.

Gonna try the quinoa alone next week with no seasoning and see what happens

I am working on something right now. I cannot get young coconuts & needed to make coconut milk for a cake earlier today.

What I did was wiz in the Vitamix up 1 part coconut with 2 parts water & then strain. When I saw the strained coconut~well a lightbulb went off in my head...:)

SOOOO I mixed it in the FP with some oat groats (that I wizzed in Coffee grinder), added some water, ground flaxseed, agave, curry, cayenne & sea salt. Tasted it & it was ok, placed in *D* not expecting too much, but just flipped & tasted & it's pretty darn good.

I'm going to check them soon & then make the filling & I'll report back how it comes out.

I've ALWAYS wanted to make samasos~even though I've never even had a SAD one, just that I happen to be one of those who likes raw cauliflower better than cooked:D

I am big-time hoping for success.:D

PS..This is the fun thing about Raw~no rules & you can reinvent ANYTHING !!!

Hi - I think cabbage leaves would be good because at least they are crunchy

Coconut milk is not made from young coconuts, it's made from mature coconut by blending the coconut water and meat togheter (and added water if needed) and then straining it, like any other nut milk.

Actually, you can make coconut milk from both young & mature coconuts. I have plenty of Raw books w/recipes for both ways. I am far from a *newbie* to this way of life.

I was referring to the wrappers as my recipe calls for young coconut meat & I was trying to replicate that as best as I could.

Needless to say, my adventure is not working out like I had planned. The texture is wrong as they cracked when I filled them.

Oh well, I tried & I'll eat them anyways even though they don't look quite right.

Oh, & BTW ~you're welcome in my attempt to try & answer your request.

Thanks
