View Full Version : Anyone have a good flax crax recipe?
Has anyone tried the flax crax from Sun Organic? I purchased the onion cumin flavor and just love them with guacamole. They don't seem difficult to make since they are made of whole flax seeds, and are flavored with onions, cumin, lemon and braggs. The recipes I keep seeing use ground flax seeds and I really like them whole. I was basically wondering if anyone has a similar recipe that is made with whole fax seeds instead of ground? I haven't made crackers yet with my dehydrator so would love to attempt a recipe using whole flax seeds. Thank you!

Most all the raw books have some type of flax cracker. I like the one in Roxanne Klein's Book Raw. Alissa has some that are quite good also ~ in her book.
I just did a google search and found this: http://www.rawtimes.com/food/flax.html

Hi Tina,
Have you tried the onion bread recipe yet? It has flaxseeds in it. It's yummy! Here's the post for it. http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1149&highlight=onion+bread+recipe
I made the Mexican Flax Crackers from the "Living in the Raw". They are good too!
Have fun! Sandy :)

That's what I'm dehydrating right now, those 'Mexican Flax Crackers'. Those are just delicious. I modify the recipe a little and add more chili powder and lots of FRESH (not dried) cilantro. And they are only made with whole flax. I don't like too much ground flax either, too slimy for me. If you want the recipe pm me!

I live on Flax crackers. Everyone who tries them says "you should sell them!!". My secret? Start with Flax and add whatever veggies you have in your fridge. My favorite is: whole flax soaked for 4-5 hours, 5-6 Habanero peppers (hot!), chili powder, cilantro, juice of a lime, carrots, onions, garlic, and salt. This makes a big batch and usually takes up my dehydrator. Then I make a big batch of Guac and dig in!
