I've been on and off again raw since Feb.2007. I'm trying to go 100% again but I try to stick to just fruit until noon and get so hungry I end up eating some soy yogurt or something else vegan but not raw. What do you eat in the am that helps you stay raw all day? Once I eat something not raw I say forget it. I naturally eat tons of fruits and veggies but my 100% focus is out the window.
I sip on a 36 oz green smoothie all morning and am ready for lunch by around 2pm. The green smoothies work.

I'm not hungry in the mornings anymore.
When I do have breakfast, it's a green smoothie around noon :p
I have some nuts in addition to the green smoothies.

if you need something "carby," try soaked buckwheat, blended in FP and mixed with sweetner and/or fruit. or soaked raw oats if you can find the truly raw ones.

Hi SuBu,
I was wondering if you make your green smoothies with fruit also? Would this inhibit my efforts to lose weight? I am trying to get as much information on this as I can. Thanks. Also what fruit would you add? (if you do):) I know that Victoria Boutenko says it's okay, but I still want to hear from others' experience with this.

I like to have fresh made fruit juice in the morning starting with an Apple/Orange juice followed by more and more juice until I want something solid and then I eat bananas:

I use frozen bananas and frozen strawberries, sometimes add an apple. Just play with it. There are lots of recipes here and can be found if you use the banana search above. I just kept playing until I found flavors I loved. Always put in kale and/or spinach. I've also used fresh orange juice as a base. I put everything but the kitchen sink in one of my GS and came up with about 400 calories for my 36 oz GS. You can do whatever with these things. Some of our fellow rawbies are true Green drinkers and don't use much, if any fruit. If I do that, I consider it SOUP!

Cinnamon girl- I'm usually pretty good with a green smoothie and handful of nuts, but my kids are starving in the morning-if I just handed them just a smoothie (even a large one) they'd look at me like I was nuts! Here are some ideas of what I give them in the mornings-they'd be good for you too:
Green smoothie PLUS:
usually some additional fresh fruit
trail mix (whatever raw nuts we have mixed with coconut, raisons, etc)
grawnola with almond milk
choc almond milk (carob, dates and almond milk in the blender-VERY filling)
Any raw dessert left over from the days before- cheesecake, fudge balls, cookies etc.
That's what so great about this diet- you can eat what you want when you want. I generally try to stick with fruits and sometimes nuts in the morning (besides the greens in the gs), but if you're hungry, I say eat. Your body will eventually find its pace.
Good luck!

I usually sip on 60-80 oz. of green smoothie throughout the morning. If I don't make a smoothie, I always feel starving and have the munchies all day. My smoothies usually consist of a handful or two of kale, about a head and a half of assorted lettuce, a heaping tablespoon of spirulina, a heaping tablespoon of hemp powder, some flax oil (maybe a tablespoon-ish?), and lots of fruit-apples, bananas, pears, kiwi, whatever I have. Yummmm!!

Maybe eat even more fruit and not limit yourself???
My morning is fruit--green juice--more fruit..and then a salad for lunch.
Fruit digests very quickly, so you will get hungry more quickly.
Though--some folks have reported that over time, they required less and less fruit to "fill up".
When I make fruit smoothies--I am stuffed for quite a while until my green juice, then that tides me over until lunch.
I would suggest---consuming more fruit....in a smoothie if necessary. :)

Breakfast is light: The juice of a couple lemons, with stevia to take away the pucker, and some green food powder. But then I munch on sea veggies (kombu is my favorite) or cucumber w/sea salt until lunch.
