so i did it all or nothing cold turkey. maybe this was not the way to go but i had to do it. although today i feel just awful. i have so much i need to get done but i am soooooo tired and lethargic, i am constantly hungry, i am not sleeping well..... what's goin on here? i am constipated (sorry tmi i know) which has always been an on going condition and i think my body is adjusting. i am no longer having any caffeine (last sip of that was Wednesday) and maybe it is all working its way out of my system. i am worried that i will gain a ton of weight since i am not too active right now but i don't have the energy to move. i am absolutely ravenous..... i think i ate a ton today but raw all raw. i guess i am looking for affirmation that i am going thought what is called a "healing crisis". please tell me that this will pass. i know that i can't expect changes overnight. i have abused my poor body for so long i can't expect a miracle. i am so sorry i keep rambling on like this but i just need a bit of support right now. on a positive note had a great meal at karyn's fresh corner last night.
thanks all,
heather

I wouldn't worry about gaining weight in one week of detox. Even if you gain (and I'm not convinced you will), you'll make up for it when your body is adjusted and you feel up to exercising again. Getting used to not having caffeine can take some time, too. But you'll start feeling more energetic soon.

Hi I am just returning to the raw food lifestyle after a couple of months away. Funny what a few family emergencies can do to your resolve. Anyway I was 100% raw for six months before that and I suffered from constipation alot well for about 14 years prior to going raw. Anyway I found that it got worse before it got better but the more greens I added to my diet the better things got. Plus I also did som colon cleansing which I think was instrumental in making the detox symptoms less extreme because I was able to eliminate the toxins more efficiently. I also suggest that you try to get the exercise even if it is at a lesser pace to get your sweat going to help eliminate that way as the skin is a major eliminative organ. Also I used the steam room alot as well to help with the detox. But remember to celebrate the detox because you are getting better and your body is getting stronger. The very fact that you are detoxing shows that your body is getting stronger and is able to perform this very intense process that will become better and better as you support it with the best nutrition possible. I congratulate you on one week before you know it it will be one month then six months and then one year etc. you will be growing younger and looking better. Hang in there it is worth every bit of inconvenience and sniffle and energy lapse. You will feel so much better each time than you did before.
