So I just had some tests done...and apparently I'm actually ALLERGIC to meat and dairy. I don't know why, but I find that so awesome!

I've been vegetarian all my life, have only had meat once or twice. It was either an accident or a time when I was literally forced to eat it. I didn't have cow's milk until I was 5 or 6, and I didn't have much cheese until around then either. After that, I became a dairy ADDICT but went vegan in March of last year for moral reasons. It wasn't until then that I noticed how negatively I reacted after having dairy (runny nose, phlegmy throat, etc.) I JUST THINK THIS IS SO COOL :D I don't think an allergy to cooked food was programmed into the test so despite whether or not I am *allergic* to it, it wouldn't have shown up. Still, WOW ^^

That's so interesting! I've been a vegetarian my whole life, too - just stopped eating meat as soon as I was old enough to have any say in it (around 3 years old). I've always wondered if my body made meat unpleasant to my toddler self because I was in some way allergic to it.

Now that you have an "outside" reason not to partake of animal fare, I hope your dad and stepmom stop busting your chops!

Haha, thanks for all your replies! I also came up as allergic to cigarette smoke (I don't have asthma)

I've never liked meat either (as long as I can remember). My Mom said that I used to spit up the meat baby food. It was always a struggle at dinner time with my Dad. He thought that I was missing out on the 'traditional' 4 food groups. He barely eats meat now :o)

I know you didn't need the validation for yourself, but at least those who don't understand can now tell themselves.."Oh but she is allergic."

Those who can't or won't get their heads around the idea that raw vegan is so very healthy might stop bugging you now. *fingers crossed*

Good for you!
