bumping?

...okay, so this might be a silly question, but I'm rather new to this....so what does it mean when a response to a thread is "bumping"....or" bumping up"???? Thank you!!!!!

it's being pushed back up from the bottom or pages further down, back to the top to be seen again.

It means that someone is moving an old thread back to the top of the board for newbies to see or to remind us about the rules of the board.

At the top of the forum when you click "New Post" the old threads will show because someone bumped it.

Anytime an old thread is written in, it becomes active again so that everyone can see it.
