lol. whenever i think of alphalpha i think of a little boy with one piece of hair sticking up..lol anyways!

just wondering how you guys rinse your alfalfa when you are sprouting it..? the seeds are so tiny they seem to get away when i drain them..any ideas?

i was thinking about buying an easy sprouter but only if i can buy that at like meijer or something close.

Figaro figaro fiiiiiigaroooooo!

He he.....ok, now seriously....
I haven't tried alfalfa sprouts yet, but I looked it up....if you're sprouting in a jar, just run some water in the jar, swish it around, cover the top with something fine meshed, like pantyhose, and let the water drain out! Easy peasy!

Other than that, I'm not sure....they're so teeny tiny that you'd need something really fine to strain them.....hopefully someone will know other methods!

There is something called "Cheese Cloth" but if you can't find it seems like the Panty Hose will work just fine.........

I previously would use plastic needlepoint mesh. I'd cut out a circle to fit over a glass canning jar, and hold it in place with a canning ring. (The rings can't be used indefinitely as they'll eventually rust.)

I've since discovered wide-mouthed plastic jar rings with wire mesh (that doesn't rust) at my local health food store, made specifically for growing sprouts. You may want to see if something like this is available near you. They were only $1.79 apiece, work great, and last forever.

Good luck!

Yes, I have a bunch of alfalfa seeds, and can't seem to get them to sprout. I've tried them in the mesh, nutmilk bag, but they don't get enough air in there (I think) so I have considered buying an easy sprouter.....any other ideas....maybe that jar thing??
