On Jan 1 the family decided to drink GS each morning. I was secretly hoping this would help them make healthier (aka RAW) choices more often. Well, in just a few short days, ds#3 as asked for GS for dinner 2x and ds#2 had raw tacos, tomatoes w/ dressing, and a fruit smoothie for dinner last night. Ds #1 bypassed his usu. popcorn, in favor of an apple for his lunch!
My PLAN IS WORKING!!! No badgering, no pleading, I don't even ahve to SUGGEST it. THEY are asking ME for more raw foods!
Oh, THANK YOU GREEN SMOOTHIE! THANK YOU!

oh that is good news. i've been making my hubby juice every morning... and i just take it to him and tell him to drink it. LOL he listens (as every good hubby should LOL)
i'm hoping it'll help him to not get sick every few weeks...

Man oh man I wish my daughter would drink smoothies. She will only drink water (about 70- 80% of the time) or plain rice milk. I've tried fresh almond milk with her and she said it feels funny in her throat. (?? I don't know why - it was strained, but that cultured almond drink Amazake does something weird to my throat so maybe it is an almond thing?)
I just feel like I could get so much good stuff into her with a smoothie. Never mind green - she won't even drink a milkshake - even just a fruit smoothie I could put Udo's oil, etc in without hassle.
So kudo's to you and your family! That is so awesome.
Oh well, one good thing in my family - my DH started having smoothies in the morning and stopped drinking tea. When I realized he wasn't drinking tea, I was like  how??? what???? and he said he feels so good with the green smoothies that he doesn't need it anymore. So 20 years of tea drinking ended by green smoothies without any difficulty or detox or whatever! Oh the other thing, he's practically all raw now, he was having some un-raw soup in the evening last week a couple nights and said he was so tired in the morning he's not going to do that anymore. A lot of times now he will have a GS for dinner.
Me on the otherhand, I cut out caffeine cold-turkey when I decided to go raw all of a sudden, and had horrible detox for 4 or 5 days. I was a monster. I'm lucky they took me back!! I didn't know about the power of the Green Smoothie. :(
Did any of you see that video of Alissa on some morning news show trying to get the interviewer to believe in the GS? He couldn't get over the color. Poor guy. If he only knew......

;) Keep this thread going.....I need help getting the "family" to climb aboard the raw train, but after 2+ years I still have few requests!!!! I can get them to do gs if I do all the work, but I am an independent person and encourage my family theat way too so I want THEM to do it! They will throw a banana, spinach and water in the blender so that's a start....Does anyone else have any kid-friendly simple recipes? I'd love to have them broaden their horizons!!!!

Nice to hear another confirmation. I heard of Green smoothies healing addiction and guiding you of wanted better food. I experienced this myself. I was 100% raw before and couldn't motivate myself to go raw again. So i just make effort to have green juice at the time and it leaded me back to 100% raw again.
Congratulations i am so happy for you and your family.
Fantastic, well done! You've inspired me to have another go with my own family... think I'll get a diabolical plan going!
