View Full Version : How long did it take you to clean out your colon?

I am getting a bit frustrated. I have been mostly (probably overall 90%) raw for 17 months. I am still constipated. I have had 2 colonics and have used a colon cleansing thing (once for 30 days, currently about a week). Even with the colon cleansing stuff in me, I can feel the constipation.

So, I guess my questions are: How long did it take before you were clean? Did you eat 100% raw during that time? Did you use colonics or some other colon cleansing method?

Try wheatgrass enemas. That will get that impacted fecal matter in the lower colon. :D

See if anything Brantley talks about makes sense to you. Here's his home page:

http://www.brantleycure.com/

And here is a link to his herbal product:

I read his book which he advertises all over the site and found it very helpful. He recommends a high-raw diet and herbs.

Bikram yoga is great too, as is smooth move tea. (if you're looking for something a little less "hands on")

Are you eating a lot of fruit? Fruit is a natural laxative. You can also try senna or the smooth move tea as beppa suggested.

Nuts continue to absorbe water in the colon. If you are eating pates, and snacking nuts everyday, try to cut them all at once and see what your colon says. Anything green will help a lot. Green juices -have this yes or yes :p -, green smoothies and green leaves in salads. Colonics every month will restore regularity and the original shape of your intestines. Drink one or to cups of fresh water first thing in the morning. Keep posting and tell us how are you doing!
Best for you,
Laura

Thanks all. I am not sure about that enema idea, but you never know.

Does anyone want to tell me how long it took to get clean? I am wondering if I am abnormal in some way.

i wonder if i am cleaned out completely. i know i've cleared my self out enough to dramatically improve my life/health. i think over all this process has taken 6 months. but i bet there are 'deeper' layers to uncover. yuck! but probably true. are you food combininb well? drinking enough water? using top quality organic colonic kits? here's something i noticed...after using a herbal colonic it would take a little while before i got into the 'rythym' on my own.

oh here's a super bit of info: use a stepping stool and one high enough that you really have to squat like you do in nature (like when camping - bum down by the ankles, knees by the ears, legs spread to the sides of your rib cage, feet spread apart). the toilet actually pintches the colon when sitting on it. squating dramatically improved my bm. to the point where, when traveling i know i'm not getting as much out as i do at home.

oh and consider squating (when noones around) through out the day. squat and pull your knees against your chest with your arms, then stand and squat again. do it as often and for as long as possible
...again in nature we would have been doing that alot. it actuallly helps move things out. and it really works.

seriously those two things really really helped me.
hope this helps you too.

It's an ongoing process. As long as I eat, I'm gonna be cleaning.

Constipation can be as much mental/emotional as it is physical, btw.

Thank you all for your responses. I will do many of those things.

I eat a lot of fruit, very few nuts, so I am wondering why things haven't seemed to change.

Revvell - would you care to expand on the "constipation can be as much mental/emotional as physical"?

I've had constipation for most of my life. I was amazed that after only 2 days taking PB shakes, I passed the biggest mucoid plaque. No more constipation ever since :D

The "squatting" tip that JenJen shared is sooooooooooo true.

It's funny because years ago I was married to a guy from Morocco. We went there to visit and I found it funny that they didn't have toilets like we do, the literally have a hole in the floor.

He said it was because sitting wasn't good for you, that the squatting action cleaned you out better. And I thought they were just years behind us. LOL But now, years later............I realize it is true.

But to answer your question: last time I went 100% raw it took a couple of months to feel completely cleaned out but I'm sure everyone is different. Maybe there is something in your diet that you don't realize is keeping you from being completely cleaned out.

You ever hear the saying "let go of you s**t?" People tend to hang onto stuff mentally and emotionally ~ forever. Whatever affects the mental/emotional also affects the physical and vice versa.

Get a headache, it affects all parts of your being. Something "bad" happens to someone and they hang onto stuff all the way from their childhood... don't ever let go of it. Many people who are constipated are constipated mentally and emotionally as well. They let go of whatever they are hanging onto in that sense and they'll let go of their poop as well.

I use these natural balance tablets daily to help me. I don't know if they are raw or not, but they work well and gently which is a plus. It does say on the packet that you shouldn't use them in hot water as it will affect the active ingredients so that suggests they might be raw. They are a UK firm so not sure if they are available where you are.

In terms of it being an emotional problem, the large intestine is related to the idea of 'letting go' in emotional terms according to Chinese Medicine.
So can you think of anything you are holding onto emotionally that really you need to let go of?

(I'll give you some personal examples to give you an idea: Anger at an ex-bf for finishing with me, childhood issues such as hurt from when my parents divorced etc)

I dealt with the majority of my issues using EFT (www.emofree.com), I'm now a practitioner in it so happy to answer any questions you might have on releasing old emotions that are no longer serving you.

It can take awhile ! I was Raw for 1.5 yrs before I decided to do a serious cleanse and I have been 9 months. I have done different things but consistantly using a product called Bowtrol. I have seen weird and amazing differences in 9 months. My sister did her colon cleansing through Colonics and she took 6 months !! Stick with it it can take time.

My dad had some constipation...nothing would help. I got him to try Dr. Shultze's colon forumula 1. He said that did the trick for him.

I would highly recommend Dr. Schulze's Formula Number 1 (www.herbdoc.com), it worked quickly and with ease for me.

One of my best friends has a forty year history of constipation and it has her moving on a very regular basis.

It is truly an amazing product.
