My last days got easier as each hours progress. my stomach wasn't as full or as noisy, as the first few days. As my fourth day approached I was not as lethargic, as the first three days. I honestly thought of going an extra couple of days. however four days was my goal. I received some grate words of advice from people on this web page, This is what I ate after my 96 hours, I drank a quart of water with a tea spoon of sea salt, this flushed my system nicely, about an hour latter; I cooked up a large steak. na na na "just kidding"
During my third day I went to the health food store and did a final day, food pick up. I bought some vegetable broth that I started eating an hour after my salt water flush. I have been eating small portions of spinage, carrots, raisins and some pinto beans, all organic. I also read about baby food and I did get some it is very helpful, I recommend it. the one thing I don't want to forget to mention is the use of Cascara Sagrada during the whole fast, it made the intestinal track function very well. If any one would like to talk, I can get a little more in depth.
Thanks for everything,
Bryan

I'm delighted to hear of your success. You sound a little incredulous or surprised that you managed to pull it off. I managed a 3 day water only fast during December and was amazed at myself. However, I was really ready to quit after the 3 days. In fact I woke up at ll:00 that night and went to the kitchen and ate an orange. During Lent (early spring), I will try again and hope that with at least a litle experience I can go 4 or 5 days. I'm sure that water only fasting is the best for me, but I don't know how well I will hold up working too. I can give up my precious swimming for a few days, but I can't not go to work. We'll see. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, congratulations on your success! :D

Thanks, three days is great. good luck on your next fasting attempt you can do it, although working can be difficult. I had the perfect environment, my wife and kids took a five day trip, i was off work four days with no responsibility's. perfect fasting environment. by the way tonight i had my first masters swim class it may have been a little soon after my fast however i feel good.
keep up the training.

Interesting, Bryan. I'm a masters swimmer too. I've been wondering how to manage swimming with fasting. Tomorrow I'm not going to eat until nooon, then have a good salad, swim at 5:30 for an hour, and then not eat until breakfast on Tuesday. For right now I'm going to mess around with one day fasts, then get more serious during Lent, which sttarts early in February.
