hey everyone. as of today -- january 1st 2008 i decided to go raw. i've been reading up on it the past few weeks and decided i realy wanted to do this. i'm tired of trying countless failing diets, that aren't even good for my health. going raw seems like a sensible choice, and i am hoping that i can stick to it. i know i want to do this until i reach my goal weight -- and afterwards, i am hoping i can stick to it as much as i can.
lets hope my raw food journey is a success!

Welcome.
Raw food is not just about loosing weight (though it is a pleasant side effect for many) it is more of a lifestyle.
Stay with us and we will help you along as much as we can.

I agree with sport. Your intentions have alot to do with your habits as well, so if you think of it as a diet, that is the mindset you have for it, think of it as a way of life and your successes will be greater.

Welcome, Noob! (Cute! I finally figured it out!!! & had to come check out this post just to find out what a 'noob' is! Thought 'raw noob' was some new raw treat/recipe that I hadn't heard of yet!
Day by day, keep educating yourself, keep setting new goals as you reach previous ones, keep track of the changes...yes, weight loss is the main reason for many to go Raw, (definately is for me!) but it's only one of many, many benefits! Long-term health is becoming more & more important to me, & Raw DEFINATELY leads to that!!!
Remember to take your measurements...often when the scale ain't movin' much, your body is still undergoing major changes!
Share with us what you're experiencing...& ask any questions you have, there is a wealth of information & help available here!
Oh, yea, & remember to take before & after pics!

thanks everyone. i know it is more than just about weight loss. i have read a lot about all the great things raw can do for one's body. i of course, also just want to start living a healthier and lighter lifestyle. i come from a family of diabetes and high blood pressure, and i know i don't want to come across either of those in my life.
