Aloha,
I would like to share a brief description of what my sporting goal without being to narcissistic. For the past two years I have been racing Triathlons on the Hawaiian island and on the mailand, meanwhile trying very hard at qualifying for the iron-man world championship, hopefully with my new found diet I will accomplish this goal. Today I am wrapping up on my second day of a water fast with a squeeze of lime. I would like to correspond with athletes about what the raw diet can do for my sports performance. my half iron-man PR is 4:56 I am hoping to drop this time by 15 min+.
Thanks
Bryan

Sorry Bryan... I'm no good for advice on this subject... just wanted to say hello and keep posting on this; I've always been interested in learning more about how serious atheletes such as yourself balance the raw journey with extreme workouts.. I'm hoping to accomplish a half marathon next year....

Are you familiar with Brendan Brazier. He used to be a professional triathlete and is a big advocate of eating mostly raw for peak performance. He wrote a book called "The Thrive Diet", formulated a Vegan performance nutrition supplement called Vega, and also sells raw energy bars. Do a google search and check out his website. Maybe he can offer you some advice??

Hey Brian. Thanks for posting that. I am and have been moving more towards raw foods since 2003 and am loving it! Last month (I'm an avid runner but have not run in over 6 months. Bad ankle) I ran for the first time (being 100% raw) and noticed a HUGE difference. Have you seen www.runningraw.com (http://www.runningraw.com)? I'm thinking about doing a half marathon soon and am anxious to see how my raw diet helps me! :)

I would love to discuss this more....We actually have a fitness thread each month to discuss/chart our goals and progress...."We" come from many fitness levels but our ultimate goal is the same! Maybe we can start a triathlete thread too? I am getting ready for my long run right now....just "waiting for a li'l daylight"....unless I stay in on the TM...It's 28 degrees so I am "on the fence" right now.....check out our thread!
