My DH is struggling with underarm BO. He's getting ready to start the 30 day challenge, so I think that will be the ultimate cure. But in the meantime he's trying to find the best natural deodorant, which do you think is best?

I never had strong pits and stopped using any type of deodorant long before raw... I will say this that that the longer you are in your raw journey I've noticed that any type of body odor seems to disappear...I guess it's all the healthy live foods versus the food loaded with hormones and preservatives....I have friends that swear by baking soda after their shower... of course depending on the climate and how much he sweats baking soda might have to be reapplied

Tell him to dampen his fingers and dip them in baking soda....then rub them in his armpits. Best natural deoderant we've found, bar none! Cheap too. :)

Baking soda can be too caustic for some. I got the worst, most painful rash from using it.

I use the natural mineral salt deordant and so my bf and we love it.
I prefer the spray version of it but the solid rock works good too.
For the baking soda, to prevent your skin from getting irritated, mix some corn starch in it - that will fix that problem. I used to use the baking soda too and my skin got irritated after a while - than I mix it with corn starch and that worked great.

I use simply divine botanicals spray and I absolutley LOVE it. I don't sweat much but when I do ~ YIKES! This stuff works great and also encourages lymphatic drainage. Hope you find a product you like! :D

I agree with you! They sell this in the natural dept of the grocery store in town and it really does smell manly. I bought some of the shampoo and conditioner today but sadly they were out of the deodorant and body lotion which I really wanted to get.

I agree with DaisyJellyBean. The crystal body deodorant stick is the only deodorant I will ever use. Not only do they work great but they are one of the best deodorants you can buy from an environmental standpoint. You wet your armpits slightly and apply it like you would any other roll-on, except this roll-on lasts me for approximately three years each. How many regular roll-ons would you go through in three years time? I usually apply it after my evening shower and once again in the morning before I get dressed. Apparently, you can even use it on your feet if you have odor problems there. I highly recommend this type of deodorant to everyone, especially if you are sensitive to other types of deodorants. I have also seen it, as someone mentioned, in a spray but obviously it won't last for three years like the stick does.

I used to use lemon juice, but I think I remember it getting sticky. I used soda, but got tired of the airborne taste. Now I use vodka. I don't driink vodka, but I use it as a deoderant and a cleaning disinfective. It is also effective to use as a hand sanitizer. Perhaps a little lavendar essential oil could be added to it

I used to use my own blend of deoderant made from vodka, lemon juice and sage essential oil which worked nicely and smelled great. I would make small batches at a time since I didn't know how long it would stay fresh.
i use the crystal rock deodorant. if you decide to use this, read the ingredients! some companies add extra stuff to it for whatever reason. it's great the way it is already. ;)
i've used baking soda in the past but found out i get allergic reactions to it for some reason -- rashy, itchy skin. my armpit skin even peeled. i do use it to brush my teeth and gargle though. :D
Like many of the others, I love the natural crystal deodorant -- it looks so pretty, too, just like a lump of white quartz.
But I've also found since being raw that I really hardly need deodorant at all -- nothing smells any more when you've been raw for a bit, one of the lesser-know benefits of this way of life!

So true! The only time I put on deodorant is before i practice yoga, and I probably don't even need that.
I practice ashtanga, a physically intense, very active yoga, and before raw, sweat would literally pour off me. Now I still sweat, but it's that nice glissening sweat.

I heard great thing about the natural crystal i believe this is salt rock. I was using organic vanilla lotion prior to become raw and now i noticed that i don't need this lotion anymore at all and i rarely need my raw coconut oil for my face either. Once most of the toxin are wash out, we don't smell anymore. The smell come from the toxin released through our skin.
Best wishes
