Simple or Advanced (for lack of better words).
Simple....raw fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds (smoothies, juices), buy sprouts, buy already made bars/crackers, easy recipes that require no appliances.
Advanced...use a dehydrator, make your own crackers, breads, etc, do your own sprouting, etc
Just curious.

The longer I am at this the more simple I've become in my approach. Lots of smoothies, usually green ones, fruit salads and green salads. Some juicing too, not much in the way of recipes anymore though.
Easy and simple, I love the small amount of time I spend in the kitchen now compared to the olden days of cooked foods!

Ya, on one hand I think what you say is best b/c it is much more simple. But will I get bored? I own a Vitamix and that's it. I buy raw crackers (it's a fortune though).
Who else?

Simple. Occasionally I get creative or bored and make something, but usually the recipes feel too heavy for my system or they're too expensive to make, so I prefer simplicity. I use my excalibur weekly, but I make my own green powders, so that's generally what it goes towards.
On a typical day:
Banana ice cream with green powder
2 -3 oranges
1-2 apples
1 head green lettuce
1/2 bunch curly kale
2-3 big leaves collard
1/2 lemon
a cup or two of tomato
1 carrot
1/6 big onion
1/3 avocado
a serving of nuts.

Due to lack of time, I have to be as simple as possible when preparing foods; the weekends seem to be the best times for creativity (not lately though) for me

I am very simple. Sometimes I made fruit smoothies, but otherwise I just eat fruit whole, along with lots of dried fruit from trader joes, and nuts. I just bought a dehydrator today, so I'll get to try some crackers soon!
I also bought a few raw bars a few weeks ago, and some raw almond butter. Mmm!

Overall, I'm pretty simple too. Lots of easy and fast, don't like being in the kitchen too long. On occasion I'll want something more complex and will end up creating something new or falling back to one of our favorite ravioli or pasta dishes and maybe tweak 'em for a different twist. I use the dehydrator mainly for processing all kinds crackers and cookies on the days that I make nut milks, we like using up the pulp. In addition, I'll also dehydrate various types of cereals. Breads get made very occasionally.
...but, then again. My idea of "simple" might not match with someone else's. My hubs always calls what I make fancy, but I see it as simple.  :p

I am a 100% all raw eater of fresh, natural, garden foods as they are grown in the Earth. I don't eat nuts, dehydrate, or do recipes. I eat only fresh raw fruits, veggies and seeds by themselves or in simple combinations. I eat plenty of simple fresh raw salads with a dressing I make fresh each time by mashing (pestle & mortar) some garlic into HFS refrigerated hemp seed oil. I also make plenty of fresh juice and make smoothies, including GS. A lot of my food is eaten whole, like for example eating a cluster of grapes as finger foods. I sprout in my kitchen window and I eat live sproutable seeds. I have found eating fresh raw foods to be the best way to fuel my body. I have been eating like this since Aug 1st (152 days) and I am looking forward to an all raw year in '08. Happy new year to all and I will toast (alcohol free) everyone with a glass of fresh made apple/ginger juice on new years eve. I wish everyone a healthy raw lifestyle journey and support each person in their choices.

Mostly - I eat pretty simply (lots of salads) -- maybe twice a month I will make a dehydrated meal - either thai spring roll wraps or spicy tacos, raw pizza, stuffed portabella mushrooms, Alissa's enchiladas something like that.
Yes I make my own un~breads (onion bread, flax crackers, spring roll wrapers, pizza bread wrappers)...
I also love the eggless eggsalad, along with the marinas and pesto Sauces in Alissas book ... they are quick and easy to fix...
Unfortunately -- I am unable to do fruit - other than young Hawaiian coconuts, tomatoes, and an occasional Hawaiian Applebanana, and once in a great while - a grapefruit.
I do love making lots of raw desserts - I usually have a piece or two - but mostly dh or our friends eat all of that - I just enjoy making it!!
I think my favorite snak food (which often ends up being my meal) is Snowdrops raw ranch dressing with all kinds of different veggies dipped into it. My favorite thing to dip into it is big kale leaves and stems...and sliced cucumbers! YUMMMMM!!! :D
AND I DRINK LOTS AND LOOOOTS OF WATER... I LOVE WATER!! :D

i don't drink nearly as much water as i would like.
i eat simple and complicated... depending on the day LOL usually i spend one day a week making crackers in the dehydrator and some pate's... then i just scoop some onto a plate with lots of raw veges and a few crackers... maybe some raw pickles and voila... dinner!
i love kale salad... and eat lots of fruit! i could easily be a fruitarian... as i love it that much.
but i more or less keep it pretty simple... but i've found that crackers are the saviour to my raw life. i was getting pretty bored with just eating raw veges all the time... so adding some raw crackers to the mix made my food crunchy and room temp (as veges are kept in the fridge and crackers on the counter).
all in all... you need to do what's right for YOU. it doesn't matter what others are doing... as everyone is doing what's right for them. :D
try different things and you'll quickly discover you 'way'.

I'm more on the simple side from day to day, but will occasionally make something more gourmet...

So far I've kept it very simple. Just green smoothies and salads.

I think those that say they eat fruit, seeds, salads, smoothies, and buy almond butter or crackers are simple.
To the rest of you that prepare your own desserts, crackers, bread...not simple! ;)
EZRider...you are an inspiration!
Simple for me, though I do like to be able to make something 'gourmet' occasionally, usually for company. I haven't even bought a dehydrater since I've been raw, for 3 years now (with some lapses).
I too was inspired by what you said, EZRider.
Happy new year to everyone and here's to RAW in 2008.

I love eating raw for the fact that you can change what you do at any time. I tend to lean towards easy recipes that I eat every day for a looong time, then out of the blue it doesn't seem appetizing any more. For now, this is what I generally eat each day:
wheatgrass juice
OJ
green smoothie
bananas mono meal
pineapple mono meal
avocado coconut chocolate pudding
dates mono meal
sunflower seeds
But when I start getting bored I immediately head over to the recipes section of this forum and look there to get inspired to make something. I have just about every dry ingredient I could ever need to make raw recipes so if I want to, I can make full use of my dehydrator and make cookies, pie, lasagna, whatever. IF I want to. It's that freedom that makes it so awesome!

Hello there,
I eat very simply. I noticed that throughout the four years of being 100% raw my body kept giving me signals to simplify my diet. As I progressively simplified my diet I felt better and better. Now I eat mostly mono meals of fruit with occasional salads (1-2 times per week) and some simple delicious tomato soup (I posted the recipe on the recipe board) once a week. Eating this way is so easy and is very satisfying!
I do think that when you are first raw the more complicated raw recipes definitely help people deal with cravings and are very helpful to transitioning.
Blessings,
Audrey

what are mono meals???
Mono meals are when you just eat one type of food for the whole meal: all mango, or pineapple, or bananas, for instance. Eating just one thing like this is supposed to make digestion really easy and less taxing on the body.

In between. I use a blender and a juicer.
My gourment consists of getting treats from glaser farms...but it is expensive to do that. A local store had sold their stuff in the past and I have ordered from them directly. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the banana balls.
