Has anyone sprouted black beans? I notice that they aren't listed in Alissa's book. However, I figured that someone had tried it.
Thanks for the help,

Beans, lentils, and those sort of things are supposedly unhealthy due to natural poisons they contain (remember, it's not because something is natural, organic and raw that it's healthy, grains are a great example of this). They are apparently worst raw since the particular poison is destroyed by cooking.

Lentils are fine to sprout. I don't think black beans are. I believe they need to be cooked to get the poisons out.

I strongly recommend to NOT eat sprouted black beans. I tried them my first week raw (about 2 years ago) and ended up praying to the porcelain god four hours later and every 20 minutes after that for the rest of the night.
I don't currently eat any sprouted beans or grains, but had no problems like above with lentils, garbanzos, mungs, peas, or aduki beans.
