I've decided to get a new raw food book, the only ones I have at the moment are Alissa's and RFRW.

I'm considering either Shazzie's Detox Your World or Ani Phyo's book.

The thing is I read a review about Shazzie's book saying it was preachy about religion - this would definitely put me off as I am firmly in the athiest camp when it comes to religion. Other than that though, it looks good.

Anyone got any opinions on these books? Or other suggestions?

Thanks!

I like Ani's book better than Detox your World.

Well, I don't know about what Shazzie's book is like, but Ani's was the first book I bought, and I have found it indispensable! Ani's book is 80% recipes and about 20% info, so it depends on what you're looking for. But as far as an "uncookbook" goes, it's tops! Oh, and you don't need a dehydrator for the majority of the recipes, which is fabulous for me, seeing as I don't have one. I myself just bought Green For Life by Victoria Boutenko, and The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose, both of which I've been told are great books as well, to add to my sad little library of 2 books (Ani's and Alissa's)!

I'm getting Ani's next. Don't have Shazzie's and haven't heard that about religion but that would be a turn-off to me as well. Hmmm. Well, reading the reviews only one mentions the religion aspect. Might just get that one as well. LOL

Ani's is my third book I refer to alot (Alissa's book, Rawvolution, Ani's). Not many pictures of the food; however, her recipes are fairly easy and tasty.

Alissa's book is my all time favorite, for sure. My second pick is Rawsome, by Brigitte Meyers. It's not the greatest for fancy recipes, but has some simple ones for sure. She has a great section on nutrients that is cross-referenced. That is, she goes through lots of nutrients and which food to find them in and she's got another list of good foods to eat and includes what their strong points are nutritionally. It's very well done --solid stuff. Happy Reading!

I've only owned one RAW Uncookbook, Alissa which i purchased along with the DVD's back in april '06 I think. Anyway I thik I'llget Ani Phyo's next. the other cool books have been quoted so often all over the web, that i feel like I've read them already.

Ani Phyo's is also at my library.

We'll see.

I wish Rawkinlocs would come out with a book, she has cool recipies and great pics of the stuff she has made. I definately need pics for motivation.
