I've been making recipes in my 5-tray Excalibur Dehyrator and loving it. And the clean-up is not too bad....but I do have a question:

How do you dry your mesh and Teflex sheets after washing them?

I'm finding this to be cumbersome and if I try to put them on a drain board they are big and slip everywhere. Kind of a pain.

Would love some advice. Thanks!

I just wipe the teflex with a towel till dry after washing, flip, and repeat if nec . Keep it simple. Same with trays if need me.I keep the extra trays, etc in my oven as the dehydrator is on top. So I just lay them in there. It's a simple system and it gets to be 2nd nature!

Give them two quick shakes outside then gently wipe with a drying towel or paper towel:)

I have a large sink NOW...but when I didn't, I put them in my bathtub to clean 'em (sometimes using a veggie brush if need be) and then shake 'em out, lightly towel dry to remove excess water and as EPPP said, right back into the dehydrator...turned on so the heat/air helps them dry.

I just wash them in the sink then put them in the dehydrator on the highest setting for 10-15 minutes to dry. Then turn the dehydrator off and they're done and ready.

yes me too, after washing I give them a quick wipe with a tea-towel and then into the dehydrator for a few mins on a high setting.

I actually put my trays and mesh sheets in the dishwasher! I don't use the teflex. Instead I use unbleached parchment paper that is thrown away after use. Since I rarely use my EX it is not as much waste as one would think. I also put my trays and mesh sheets back in the EX after they are done washing and turn it on 145 degrees for 15 mins. to dry them.

I wash the teflex with soap after each use, but have just been wiping down the outside rims of the trays with a cloth or paper towel. Now I have noticed a kind of sticky residue on the trays. It doesn't come off when I wash them in the sink with dish soap. Any suggestions? I would rather not use a harsh cleanser on them, but I wonder if I am going to have to spray them with oven cleaner or something?
Thanks

Soak them in hot water...hot as you can get from your tap (if your sink is large, do it there...if not, use your tub) and just let them soak for a while. Then, use a dish brush or veggie cleaning brush and it should come off. But when the drippings, etc. are allowed to sit and kinda get dried onto the trays, it just takes soaking really good in hot water and some good 'ole "elbow grease" to get that off.
