View Full Version : Jan 1st RE-dedication for you ole rawbies!!

If anyone on the raw path for awhile now has really been slipping up, I would like to open that door & send some love & support for re-dedicating at the start of the new year (or even NOW for that matter!-- why wait?!)
You are NOT alone
You have NOT failed
It's all about the journey. We get better & better each time!
Let's all join for moral support. Maybe ppl would like some fasting buddies to kick start things. Maybe there's some oldies out there that have disappeared because cooked food has been giving them those old infamous guilty feelings that keep them from commenting or being an avid site member again. Maybe they just need to hear they have been missed & it's never too late to get RAWKIN once again.
No- it WONT take a long time to raw your body again. It starts with your next meal. That's it!
What do You say??

I was searching for a term to describe those that have been here awhile.
I couldnt say 'older'. I'm at such a loss for words today.
I really dont want to name names, but there are quite a few I would love to get back in here!!!

I'm going to be starting a fast this January 1st.
I've never done it before more than 2 days and so far I am planning on anywhere between 60 to 90 days.
But we will see how it goes..... one can never really plan these things. The body sometimes does not want to do what the mind wants.

I'm in!!! I passed on ALL the holiday goodies this year (feeling good about this) but alas [sigh] have yet to reach my goal of maintaining 100% for any great length of time. Persistence will win in the end...so, yeah, I'm definitely in. :D

Anyone still interested in commenting? I thought it may have been overlooked since it was made so close to the holiday.
How is everyone doing??

I have been gone for so long, but I am sitting here drinking a green smoothie and feeling like I just let out a big huge breath. You know...one of those breaths that feel like they come from your toes all the way up. I am a little late for the party, but somehow, I don't think that matters one bit.
Take care and thanks for the ride.

I'm in! I went to the store on Jan. 1st and bought all kinds of raw goodies to jump start the year! So far so good...
I was raw last year for about 3 months and felt great...started dating a guy, started going out to dinner (blah blah blah) and fell into cooked food again. I miss the great feeling I had when I was raw.
Anyway, count me in! I keep on track when I read the posts here.
My biggest obstacle is traveling for work. I fly to MN about twice a month for about 4 days at a time. I'm looking through un-cook books to see what I can make in my dehydrator. I leave for MN on Tuesday and I already plan on packing fruit, nuts and easy snack stuff.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I think you can pack dehydrated fruits, but I don't know if you can take fresh fruits and veggie in/out of Cali.
Good idea though. Best wishes. =)
Count me in as well!
I'm one of those "ripened rawbies" who fell off the proverbial path this fall and I'm ready to jump back in! I'm starting tomorrow with a month-long cleanse (not a juice fast - it's raw foods with herbs and cleansing supplements).
Here's to starting the year right! :D
Blessings to all,
Mary

Love to be loved and supported and i love to give support. I am not failing as yet, but temptations are always there. I had some raw attempts before - i wasn't sad i wasn't raw - it felt lonely in both worlds...
Your initiative is absolutely great! Thumbs up!!! Count me in! :)

I'm trying to get back to raw after all those holidays, & since the new year I've done ok but still struggling especially when I get home from work at night, I just want to grab anything. But, during the day, I do so good.

Nutzoverraw: I fell off the wagon when I started dating my BF too. When I met him I had this slinky little dress on that I bought 9 years before and hadn't worn in almost as long! Haven't worn it for him again since and he asked me why - my answer was b/c I don't have the same tiny body as when I was 100% raw. It's only literally a few lb dif but my whole body is tighter when I'm raw. I'll be wearing that dress again soon though!;) I think you should be fine bringing fruit - you just can't bring it into other countries. I heard there is a raw rest in MN - maybe it's near where you go?
Happy to see everyone!!

I'll check it out! That would make my life soooooo much easier! I'll just need to talk my co-workers into trying it. I stay at the Hilton On Marquette Ave in Twin Cities. They sell fruit at the airport, so I can always get fruit after the security checkpoint. In the past, I was buying 2 bananas and a cafe Mocha (no more Mochas for me  ).
Thanks for the support!

Found a restaurant! My meals are paid for, so this should be fun, although it will probably be cheaper than where we were going for dinner...

That's the one I was thinking of. I've never been to MN, but I hear it's good - and any raw restaurant while you're traveling has to be fantastic!!

Thanks Vegan Princess! I'm excited to go there!
I'm making the apple cookies from RAWvolution. He has a lot of recommendations for what to make for travel. I'm going to make the onion bread too and make a sandwich for the plane trip. Next trip, I'll be more prepared with a little more pre-planning with ingredients.
I came down with a really bad cold on Thursday (probably detox) and I'm hoping that I'll feel better before I travel to snow land!

Get well soon! I've been coughing for over a week - no fun! When I was really sick (and on vacation) I went to the cafe at the living light culinary institute and they told me to have a shot of wheat grass, a shot of e3 live and a big green juice - and it actually made me (and my boyfriend) feel much better!

Thank You!
Feeling much better today. I used Tiger Balm on my chect last night (natural chinese balm). I wanted to try oil pulling (from another thread), but I couldn't breathe through my nose. I'll try that tonight if my nose is clear like it is now.
I'll go to the juice shack at lunch (it's right down the street from work) to get wheat grass juice. I doubt they have E3 live...but they might. Freshly made carrot juice is good for flying and reduces jet lag. Although, you have to drink it within 10 minutes of making it to put O2 in your blood.
I also printed out the bus schedule to Ecopolitan in case my co-workers will not go. So, now I have no excuse :D. I can also stock up on a few goodies 'to go' from the restaraunt.
