I'm strongly considering getting a nut milk maker, the nut milk I make most often by hand is coconut milk (normally for coconut ice cream). Can the automatic nut milk makers do coconut milk? I know I'd have to break the coconut meat into small peices but would it work well? Has anyone with a nut milk maker tried making some or would be willinbg to try?
Thanks

Ooh what a good idea!! I've never tried it but I will tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.
I do use it to grind spices/nuts and seeds. I think it would work with dried ground coconut, but not sure about fresh.
What do you add to the coconut milk to make icecream?

Could you try it with a mature fresh coconut? I can't find young coconuts here and I really don't think the pre dried shredded coconut is really raw (I shred and dry it myself from mature coconuts so I know it's raw).
To make ice cream from home made raw coconut milk, I add quite a bit of coconut oil to turn the milk into a cream, with vanilla beans, agave nectar and sea salt. Blend and transfer to ice cream machine.
Thanks

Has anyone tried making coconut milk from fresh mature coconut meat in a soyabella or similar nut milk maker?
Thanks
