I don't have one and want to know what you use yours for! I have money to spend at Macy's and was thinking it might be a good investment for going raw, b/c I see it mentioned on these boards. I want a dehydrator, but they don't carry them (at least not online). I'll have to just buy one!

I use mine for:
ice cream
nut pate
taco "meat"
chopping up veggies when I don't feel like hand-chopping
salsa
dips and spreads (cheeze, spinach, etc.)
most desserts (pie crusts and fillings, date-nut torte, cookie dough, donut holes, etc.
cracker and bread "dough"
slaw
...more
Basically, I like my FP over the blender for things that either the blender will blend TOO smoothly that I may not want that smooth or things that would be a little more difficult to remove from the blender than the FP due to the size, etc. and with the FP, I have more control over the consistency of the food I'm processing.

Raw carrot cake!!! Amazing!!!
And...salsa, pie crusts, pates, etc., etc., etc. BUT, especially the raw carrot cake. I ALWAYS have one made or am making another the day I eat the last piece of the current one.

Mainly I use it for chopping, shredding or slicing assorted vegetables. I also use it to make nut cheese and occasionally desserts.

Making raw food brownies and other raw desserts which I've done a lot of this holiday season. I also use it for finely dicing vegetables for soups and veggies that I'm going to serve with curry sauce. I make Matt Amsden's onion bread a lot, so I slice large quantities of onions with it. I use my food processor at least two times a day.

I use mine for things like salsa, guacamole, and many, many raw recipes require a food processor.
The tasks I use it for are:
With the S-blade:
-Dicing
-Chopping
-Puree-ing
With the discs (with the discs a foodprocessor can do almost any job a mandoline can, I threw out my mandoline after getting my food processor, it does the job better and faster and is actually easier to clean):
-Slicing (I have 1mm, 4mm and 8 mm slicing discs)
-Shredding
-Julienne-ing (I have a 2x2mm julienne disc that instantly turns zucchinis into spaghetti noddles! I think this is only an option on Cuisinart models, I strongly recommend Cuisinart over other brands, they have MUCH more features and the model I have has a 20 (yes TWENTY) year warranty!).
-French fry disc (makes 6x6mm french fry cuts, great for raw jicama fries)
The one I got even came with (and this is optional on most other Cuisinarts) a whisk attachment, it's a set of whisks that turn into each other and around the food processor bowl, essentially converting it into a stand mixer/electric whipper.
This is the one I got, it's Cuisinart's 2nd most expensive model, the most expensiuve one being for commercial use (I have the most expensive home model), I think it's well worth the extra cost due to the 20 year warranty (best second warranty is 5 years I believe) and included whisk attachment (an $80+ option on the other models). It also has a large 14 cup bowl which is very handy for making large batches.

I would have to say that a food processor would be my first appliance to buy, then a blender and then a dehydrator. I use both my blender and food processor pretty much daily. Have fun at Macey's.

I loove my fp! I use it to make raw ice creams, dips, pates, spicy taco meat, cheese cakes, Alissa's fudge balls, blending stuff to make wraps for enchiladas, tortillas, flax crackers, spring roll wraps, pizza dough, mixing all the stuff to make Alissas calzones ... and Alissas chili... donut holes, prepping the fruit to make fruit leathers... :D the list is endless!!! Also for simple chopping, slicing etc...
I got my fp from Walmart a cruisinart for $60 (it has a 14 cup capacity).
and my dehydrator - I ordered from right here from Alissa's store... great service - got it right away -- even shipping it to Hawaii... my only regret - I got the 5 tray rather than the 9 tray... :( I really wish I had gotten the 9 tray!
I have a junky blender that barely works - so I rarely use it ... and someday I would love to get a vitamix --- but for now -- I use my fp all the time...
