well, i dunno this sounded good and after searching no raw results for artichoke pie, I came to the idea that you could try a modification of the Spinach Pie from Dining in the Raw by Rita Romano:

Artichoke Pie

4 cups artichoke, trimmed.
2 cups walnuts
1 inch piece of ginger, peeled
1/4 cup tahini
juice of 1 lemon
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Braggs to taste
2 tsp. psyllium seed powder

process walnuts and ginger with S blade to a finely chopped consistency. Press into a 10" pie plate. Quickly process remaining ingredients in food processor. Press into crust. Top with sliced mushrooms in a nice design. Let sit 1/2 before serving.

all i did here was substitute Spinach for Artichokes.

also found a link explaining how to trim Artichokes: here (http://becksposhnosh.blogspot.com/2006/05/how-to-trim-artichoke.html)

What were the ingredients in your Grandmother's pie? Find them out and substitute. Cheese for raw cheese, crust for raw crust, etc.....

I would love to know what you come up with.

I've never heard of artichoke pie...cooked or raw. So what is it....taste and texture. Is it a desert or like a quiche? Just wondering.
