So dh is going in for his bloodwork yesterday and I am due (overdue) to get mine done. So I inform the nurse I'm NOT fasting and get my blood drawn. WELL, I get my results last night to most of my bloodwork ...... My cholesterol is terribly high.   I'm already stressed out and this is now adding to it! I am officially panicking ... and of course that doesn't help either...... What to do!!!

You are suppose to be FASTING for 12 hours. Your reading is NOT a true one. DON'T PANIC. Have a RAW Day.

Also, which cholesterol? There are two types: one is supposed to be low (LDL), the other is supposed to be high (HDL).

the cholesterol blood work that is done in allopathic labs is only a "picture" of what's going on in your blood that very minute. It is not an accurate predictor of heart disease etc because our biological terrain changes constantly. Inflammation in the body will cause high cholesterol readings because the body makes cholesterol to repair inflammation. It is doing it's job if it's doing this. We stop it from doing it's job when we take statin drugs.

The test is not accurate because you were not fasting and if you do a new one when fasting and it comes back high, please see a naturopath or chinese doctor to find out why it is high. Raw will definitely lower your cholesterol if you give it time.

I'm glad you said something about about inflamation in my body. That is precisely how I have been feeling lately, as though something is not right! I have always been fairly aware of my body's comings and goings and whats going on with it. This just through me for a curve. I had an idea it was elevated. Maybe part of the reason I put off the lab work. I'm always under stress and I internalize it!:o

Thanks for the responses.

My husband and I both had blood work done awhile back and he knew to be fasting but somehow I didn't get the message. My results came back and I too was wondering what is going on, this can't be right. It's nice to hear that it isn't an accurate reading and I'm going to have it redone. :D It will be very interesting to see the difference.
