Hi guys,

I'm new on the forum and searched for this topic but did not see a thread, so forgive me if it's repetitive.
I've performed a couple of 10 day water fasts in the past and am on day 8 of my third. I've always had problems with getting adequate sleep. Normally anything beyond the third day is a veritable sleepless night. At best, I'll nap for 4 hours off and on. Naturally, when I do hit that sweet spot of sleep, I dream I'm eating. (sigh)

I'm not sure this is a normal reaction to fasting. Has anyone had experiences they'd be willing to share? Any advice is welcome. I have considered taking an over the counter sleeping pill but with nothing else in my system, I'm not sure if that's wise?

Thanks!

Hi there friend! You know, I find myself bring up this topic a lot but I think it's valid. Perhaps consider colon hydrotherapy. You are surely detoxing, and your brain might be sensitive to an abnormal amount of chemicals in your system being released due to fasting. May I ask why you're detoxing this time of year? It's not the usual season to be doing so. Are you familiar with why? -our "furnace" needs calories to keep us warm. I do occasionally do a little bit of winter fasting, generally I would do green lemonade fasting though.
Listen to your intuition about that sleeping pill. I did have some similar experiences with insomnia when juice-fasting for ten days last summer and would feel abnormally wired late at night. I would get two days of "calm euphoria" after a session of colon hydrotherapy with this fast, then slowly would start to feel like "crap" again and get somewhat lethargic and a little bit irritable. And I couldn't believe what was coming out of me with those colonics- old stuff, old, bad, black, putrid stuff. So, on that cheerful note, Happy Holidays!
