I don't have the info, but just wanted to say you will win the debate. There is no argument, wheatgrass rocks and is an amazing food. I had 4 oz this morning before my super green smoothie and I am bouncing off the walls with pure, sustained energy. Tell her that with a big smile. :p I don't even argue with them anymore...it's pointless. With all the facts, she probably won't even hear you. I'm usually a positive person, but I'm also a realist. People believe what they want to believe, especially if she's certified in "something". Good luck though and your enjoy grass. :D I hope you're feeling better and your treatment plan is working for you.

Peace,

Crystal

Here's another one stating the nutrients in 100g of wheatgrass juice (about 2/3 down the page): http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/nutrition/wheatgrass.html

I love Wheatgrass too! I feel very fresh when I take it! I do not know how to explain, but is like something powerful entering in my body... can't explain the feeling.
I use to drink 16oz every night. This lasts days I been having ginger root tea cuz I caught a cold (I know is not raw... I'm still transitioning) I been having that for my throat and I'm not getting wheatgrass. I'm craving on it

Wow! 16 oz every day. Tell me what that as like if you see this response. I only average a shot a few times a week from the local health food store and even that little perks me up enough to make me wonder if I should save up for my own grass juicing machine and really go to town with the stuff.

Who's growing their own? I also considered I could buy it by the box grown for me ordered through the hfs.

16 oz at one time?!? That's a record. Whew! And at night!! It gives a lot of people a buzz like coffee. I"m glad you can sleep. I can tolerate wheatgrass juice fine, but if I tried to drink 16 oz at one time, I'm sure I would throw up.

I just started growing my own wheat grass.
It is amazingly easy to grow. It will even grow if you just leave the sprouted wheat in a bowl with no soil. I just love seeing the bright green grass all over my house.

Yep. I love it. As I told, I feel the fresh and the life of it... can't explain well, but is like when I'm drinking it, I recover all the energy lost, and I even feel better (I wake up 2 or 3 times to go to pee, but I go back to bed and fall asleep instantly. Sometimes I drink even more, as when is almost over, I pour more water -reverse osmosis- and I clean the leftovers of the bottle)

Is like an elixir for me, I'm going next week out for travel, and I will having my wheatgrass by pills, which bugs me a lot. But people at the airports it's nuts... and how can explain about wheatgrass if they open my luggage (I will carry a small suitcase on board) They will think it's drug

I started a business growing grass when I couldn't get any good stuff locally. :) :) :) :)
It's been said that anything over 6ozs a day, if you are just using it for maintenance, is like taking a multivitamin when you don't need everything in it. You just end up peeing out most of it. 4-6 is optimal and should give you the best. The facts on 877myjuicer.com are great. I supply his wheatgrass and seed. Check my site out. Email me for more info if needed.

Happy NEW YEAR!!!

That's good to know.
Anyway, I like the taste (I'm weird I know) so it's just the freak who drinks 24 oz of coke... I do with wheatgrass (but 16oz) :p At least, it won't damage me.

So, any accepted protocol on when to drink it? Like some in the morning and some in the evening?

It digests best on an empty stomach. Wait an hour or two after eating to drink it. And after drinking it, give yourself an hour to digest it before eating or drinking anything else. You can drink it at night just as long as it isn't stimulating to you. Otherwise, you'll have a hard time sleeping.

great discussion :)
i havent gotten into wheatgrass yet but its something i very much want to do.
i asked for a manual grass juicer for christmas, but, alas, i did not get one
ill have to order one myself i suppose, any suggestions?

im glad its not hard to grow-
i was planning on doing it myself.
you can buy packets of the pre-cut grass at the grocers - i imagine thats not the best quality

Everyone is different when it comes to what time of day. It doesn't matter at all. As long as it is on an empty stomach and you don't eat for about 30-40 minutes after. I like the mornings. I also cannot drink it in anything else. That makes my stomach turn. That's me...
My daughter's friend just told me that a woman was on one of the morning programs with a bunch of "good for you" products and wheatgrass was there. She was saying how you didn't need it. That your body produces all of the benefits of it anyway. Guess she hasn't spoken with those people who have been healed with wheatgrass and living foods. I'll stick with giving my body all the help it needs.....be well...
