I WANT TO GET HEALTHIER BUT I FEEL I'M BLOCKING ME. ALSO I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PUT MY PROFILE TOGETHER ON THIS SITE. I QUESS ONCE I GET THE HANG ON IT IF I CAN BE WALKED THROUGH, I'LL POST MORE OFTEN.

Hi Joon Welcome to the board.

You can go here for instructions on setting up your profile: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9

Also to answer some of your questions, processed soy products are not considered a raw food, raw food consist of Vegetables, Nuts, Seeds and Fruit, and some use Honey.

As for steaming that would not be raw either, anything heated above 110-118 and some say keep it under 105 kills the food. There are some great alternatives to steaming, you can actually marinate your greens and it will give them a wonderful taste.

There are lots of food choices you can have, pizza, ice cream, greens, raw burgers, enchilada's and so much more.

How did you find about raw foods? Do you have Alissa Cohens Book called Living on Live Food? This is a great book for a beginner.

thank you for the quick response. and yes i do have her book and probably need to re-read it. a little about me. i had the gastric bypass Aug 06 and lost 86lbs. i got the surgery due to multiple dieases: diabetes, high bloodpressure and cholesterol. i'm much better and more control. i need gain about 10lbs and started to freak out because i never wanted to get fat again. it was difficult to do the surgery because being full figure in the african american culture is not look down on. so now i'm slim and the most important thing is i'm healtier. now i want to take it further and not to worry about gaining weight again so i found out about Raw living at my spiritual center and i'm ready but i need someone who lives this life to coach me along the way. girl, i'm ready and want to successed. i have accomplish a lot except taking charge of my health.

I'm glad you found raw food, I believe this is how we should eat. Are you looking for someone local? A friend and myself are starting a challange via email it's a bit more personal to help keep up with each other, if you like maybe you can join, we plan to set our goals before January 1st and then keep in contact and call on each other if we need support.

I like the 30 day challenges here on the board as well but if you want a more personal experience let me know here or better yet send me an email by clicking on my username.
