I sometime test if seeds etc are raw by sprouting them and now I have tried with almonds, does anyone know how long it will take before they sprout and how does it look like? do they get sort of a tail like beans and seeds? and how long did you soak them before? Ihave soaked mine over night :)
Very thankful for all answers :o

I am pretty sure that almonds don't ever produce the green sprout that seeds do. They just absorb the water and become plump. (I think I read this in Alissa's book). I don't think any nuts grow a sprout upon soaking.
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,
I usually just soak my nuts over night and eat them (so, no time for them to sprout) :D
BUT my almonds (raw, ordered from "Keimling") always sprout over night when I soak them! They grow a tiny tiny white "tip" (maybe 1 mm or so), some even "break up" a bit.
