First off thank you everyone for answering all my questions the past few days and being such wonderful role models. So let me ask some appliance questions. From what i gather from reading the boards are these the appliances i will be needing for the rest of my life. a blender, juicer, dehydrator, food proccesor, and vitamix? What is a vitamix? Does anyone here use a magic bullet? What is your opinion of that? What brands are good quality that you love, and last what is a cooking appliance or utility that you couldn't live without and that you are so happy you have?

VITAMIX!!
With that you don't need a blender. I also have sprout bags for sprouts and nutmilk.
Lastly, I like my little spiral slicer for "spaghetti". Warning, it didn't come with very good instructions and Alissa's customer service forwarded me a link to a pictorial which showed me what I was doing wrong.

I don't own a Vitamix. Don't know exactly what it is and doubt I'd need one. I do own a blender. Haven't used it in years. When I *did* use it, I didn't use it much. I have an immersion blender that gets more use than the blender ever did. Although it doesn't get much use either.
The only juicer I have is a citrus juicer. It doesn't get much use.
I do have a dehydrator. It doesn't get much use either. At times I will use it for days on end, then I won't use it for a long time.
Food processor probably gets the most use of all.

Do you still have that link by any chance?

i have a vitamix and wouldn't live without it. it is basically a very high powered blender. mine is 3+ horse power. i tried going raw before and it didn't last because i didn't have the blender, but now that i have it i've been raw for a few months now without a problem.

I love the Majic Bullet. However, I found that it doesn't have the ability to make the mass amounts of green smoothies that I want to whip up. So, just this past weekend, I bought the Vitamix (from Alissa's on-line store). :D
