I wasn't sure where to put this:

I caught a cold nearly 2 weeks ago...that has now turned into a lung infection.

I'm coughing up phlegm like crazy:eek, and I cough a lot!

Is there anything I can do to to get rid of the infection?

The last thing I want to do is go to the ER. Antibiotics make me very ill and queasy:eek:.

The best thing overthecounter I know of is Elderberries.
You can purchase them dried from San Francisco Herb Company or its sister company on the East Coast. Both offer large bags of inexpensive dried berries that make a wonderful tea.

Use a teaspoon of dried berries to a cup of water. Sometimes i make a second cup from the same berries. Put honey in to sweeten if you wish.

Elderberry is a very strong antiviral. I drink it all during flu season and I hear this flu going around is a very bad one this year! I'd drink 2 to 3 cups per day if you're sick, and at least 1 cup a day to protect against flu if you don't have it.

Here is the link. Very affordable. $4.40 for a full pound bag, which is a lot.
