Hello everyone.

So today I decided to clean the mold off my shower ceiling with gloves and some bleach on a sponge. It is very unventilated in there (which is why there is mold in the first place) and I am now feeling very ill even an hour after I finished. I did hold a towel over my face while cleaning, but evetually it wasnt good enough. I feel like my lungs are full of bleach fumes and I'm feeling somewhat queazy. I read online about chemical pneumonia, but I dont think I inhaled that much. I have to take a test in 30 mins. I hope I dont puke in class!

If anyone has had this happen, I'd love some help. Otherwise I am just hear to mention my troubles.

Bleach and GOOD ventilation indeed go together. However, getting rid of the mold is really important for health and bleach is the way to kill it. Recommend: Clean frequently to prevent mold build-up from occurring in the first place. Dilute the bleach with cool water and it will still work well on light jobs. Try to put a fan near the door and ventilate rest of house when cleaning. Good news is bleach breaks down to ordinary salt and water quite quickly so it is not a "toxic" liquid as many people assume. It's a fabulous disinfectant! Hope this helps.

This helps very much so. Thank you!
I always forget to dilute the bleach before I pour it on my sponge. I didnt have that much mold, and I'd been meaning to get to it. I need to set a shower cleaning schedule that I will stick to!
