I've been eating Good Seasons with olive oil and Bragg's ACV for awhile. I've been wanting to avoid the sugar in Good Seasons though. I tried a homemade recipe online but didn't like it. I recently got Alissa's book and eagerly whipped up her Favorite Dressing, and I hate to say this, but I don't like it... but maybe I didn't make it right, I kinda eyeballed the measurements and I used regular ACV instead of Bragg's, so maybe that had something to do with it?
I'm looking forward to trying one of her other recipes, but really don't want to be dissappointed, ya know? Which one is your favorite???
Did any of you find that you had to kind of stick it out with raw dressings before you found yourself to like them? I really want to ditch the Good Seasons, but I don't know if I can stand to force myself to eat untasty salad either.
Thanks for your help everyone!

Hey Freshie!
ACV and Braggs have -completely- different tastes. Braggs is more salty/soy saucy and rich, ACV is much sweeter and vinegary (I can't think of a better way to put that..tart?). As a matter of fact, my fave salad dressing is:
Braggs
ACV
a bit of EVOO
a bit of agave
a clove of garlic, diced finely
whatever dried herbs sound good
black pepper
All whisked together with a fork and poured onto a salad, then toss. It's like a sweet herby vinagrette.
Definitely you cannot use the Braggs and ACV interchangeably! :) Hope you find something yummy that works for you.

If I'm correct, I think Freshie meant the Bragg's brand of ACV.....not the liquid aminos.....am I right?! No worries, easy mistake!
Freshie, I actually like the favourite dressing....I've never really tasted a difference between the Bragg's ACV, and other brands, but that could just be me. I've also made Alissa's creamy Italian dressing, which was very good as well. I'm actually enjoying a "dressing" right now, made with about 1/2 a grated onion, lemon juice, and some Himalayan salt. It makes about 2 servings, and is soooo goood!! I would suggest trying the favourite dressing one more time, and actually measure it out....I find when I eyeball it can be touch and go! Good luck!

hello there
For a long time I just used lemon juice, but it came too tart and I got bored-so I have been eating my salads plain. Then I tried Alissa's dill vinaigrette and that is good. I tried her creamy italian dressing and I think I did it wrong because It ended up with a big blob and I had to throw away. So I think you, like myself just need to keep experimenting. Good luck

I, too, have had a hard time finding a salad dressing I like. I thought it was the ACV (and I used Bragg's) that I didn't like. I am still searching for one that I am truly ga-ga for. The closest was the "ranch" dressing that I found on this board, but it didn't exactly do it for me either.
Good luck on your search!

The BEST salad dressing I have ever made is the asian salad dressing on this post:

It is ADDICTING!!!
p.s. I use crushed red pepper in place of the chili powder because I like everything extra hot.
Good luck!

I meant Bragg's ACV vs. some other brand. Haven't been able to get my hands on the amino acids yet, looking forward to it though!
I've actually seen that asian dressing recipe on here before, tried it and loved it! I quit making it though because I was concerned sesame oil was a no-no?
I would love to use sesame oil because I think a lot of my dressing problems come with the olive oil... I don't know, I think it's the liver cleanses I've done... scarred me for life, ha!

Before I went raw I ate almost exclusively french dressing so I tried Alissa's raw version of french dressing and even though it is much thinner in consistency, the flavor is great. I definitely enjoy the raw french dressing.
