...I have one. Don't know how or why, but I do. I was doing some general reading about treating and preventing them in the first place...and I came across this in a website:

Women can help to prevent bladder infections by wiping from front to back with toilet tissue after a bowel movement and by urinating after having sexual intercourse. Some women who have two or more bladder infections every year take an antibiotic after sexual encounters, three times per week, or daily to prevent infection. Other measures that may help to prevent bladder infections include going to the bathroom as soon as you feel the urge to urinate, drinking plenty of fluids every day, and avoiding the use of a diaphragm for contraception because it can increase the risk of cystitis.

I remember about the first sentence...but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone taking antibiotics as much as they state in the 2nd sentence!!!

Scary!!

BTW...do any of you know of or recommend any holistic approach (self-help) websites?

Taking antibiotics like that will definitely be a problem if one ever needs them in the future.

When I was on the "pill" I use to get urinary tract infections until I drank a glass of water (or juice) with a few drops of GSE in it daily. Took care of any stomach OR UT problems.

Inexpensive and natural. No side effects.

The only thing that seems to work for me is LOTS of water and eating lots of fruit for some reason??? Also, don't take baths anymore because I kept getting UTI/bladder issues and was told not to take them...it seems to work.

By the way Portiz, I am owned by a Boxer too!!! I love your doggies!!! How cute!!

I hope you get to feeling better.

Cheers,
Heather
