Hi, all--
I am very new to this site, have been mostly raw for over 6 months, and have lost the weight I wanted to lose. That, water aerobics and yoga for folks with joint problems have helped my arthritic knee. (I can still dance--yay disco, which I would never give up--but I did have to give up my beloved tap dance lessons.) I love the way I feel eating raw. As it has gotten cold, though, I crave hot soup and tea, and when I am stressed, I crave protein and have had some eggs, etc. Plus, as I said elsewhere, those potlucks can be hard.
Several people mentioned the idea of a buddy. I searched the site and can't find anything official about it, but I love the idea. I gather it is someone with whom you connect regularly to share the raw journey's ups and downs, etc? You e-mail them individually? My friends and significant other are all very supportive, but that is not the same as talking to someone who is actually eating this way.
Even in the few days since I joined this site, I feel more enthusiastic to continue and put in the (not very much) time needed to have supplies on hand, etc. I want to keep it very simple. I buy WONDERFUL dehydrated crackers and raw bars but don't have and don't want a dehydrator myself.
I would love to have a raw foods buddy if anyone is interested.
