I did a banana search, but didn't come up with the answer.

My health food store has preground psyllium seed husks, but it also has whole psyllium seeds in the bulk section. Which should I use? Which do you use when making pumpkin pie or other recipes? Is there a difference...I mean husks sounds like it's missing the seed...which wouldn't the seed have alot of the important nutrients?

Help!?!

Thank you...in advance. :D

Psyillium seed husk ( should be a powder) is what you want to use when you want to thicken a recipe, such as the pumpkin pie you mentioned. You only need a little bit and it causes liquids to thicken very fast. It's also a great way to get extra fiber in your diet and helps to promote colon cleansing ~

Regarding the actual psyillium seeds~ I don't know, never used them before but I'm sure they have some uses!! Hopefully someone will post something to shed some light on this :)

Thanks sweetpea76.:D

I knew when a recipe called for psyllium, it was referring to the powder, I just didn't know if the powder should be husks only or the whole seed. But if everyone is using the prepowdered psyllium, which near as I can tell, comes as husks only, then it must be right...Makes sense...right

Well, as long as my pie turns out, I'm not gonna sweat it. (See, that's me not sweating it ---> )

Thanks again.;)
